The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Margaret Gagon and the late Joseph Jo-seph A. Gagon of Provo, anl Mr. "Johnson is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Johnson of Springville. The young- couple were accompanied accom-panied through the temple by the mothers, and the ceremony was performed by Richard R. Lyman of the Council of the Twelve. Orchestra Wins Compliments The Brigham Young university symphony orchestra distinguished Jtfelf in the concert presented Sunday night, with Fredric Dix- j pn, eminent pianist, as the guest artict- An appreciative audience ; 'attended the concert in the Jo-! aeph Smith building. j : ,The concert was dedicated in honor of the members of the 1 faculty and student body who are in the armed services. Mr. Dixon presented an artistic rendition of the Concerto No. 2 in C minor by Rachmaninoff, with the orchestra. The orchestra also played Tchaikowsky's Symphony No. 5 in superb style. Prof. LeRoy Robertson, director of the orchestra, won many compliments com-pliments for the fine work of the . orchestra. Appreciation was expressed by Prof. Robertson to Kathcrine Worrell, gifted violinist, as concert master; Gustave Buggert, cellist; Wef ley Pearce and John G. Hil- grendorff, violas; Louis Booth, oboe and coach of woodwinds. and Robert Sauer, bass, and all alumni musicians who assisted. Sub-Debs Hear Mrs. Cullimore Mrs. L. L. VEGETABLE CHOWDER (Serves 6) Onc-quarteV pound fat salt pork, diced;' 12 small onions, 2 car rots, 2 potatoes, jjreen pepper, 2 stalks celery, 2 tablespoons flour, 3 cups milk (or 1 cups evaporated, milk and 1 cups water), wa-ter), salt to taste. . Place diced salt pork and onions on-ions cut in small pieces in" bottom of soup kettel and brown slowly. Add carrots, pepper potatoes, eel-cry eel-cry cut fine. Add water to cover, about 2 cups. Allow to simmer 15 minutes; or until vegetables are thoroughly done. Mix flour with ojd milk ; and add to vegetable veg-etable rnixture. Add salt. Stir until un-til thick. Place in double boiler over hot water 'until ready to serve. This may- be made, with one cup more of milk if a ' thinner chowder is desired. Garnish "with parsely prpapiika. ':.
