Fifth Ward Reunion Fete J The fortieth, anniversary of the : organization of the Fifth ward, was celebrated in gala fashion by young and old alike, Monday, at the meeting- house. -The youngsters were entertained entertain-ed in the afternoon, the program including a variety show presented pre-sented by the Petite School of Dancing, under the direction of Mrs. Lois Drage. Those appearing were Alice Louise Mecham, Ila Thueson, Carma Boardman, Sher-1; Sher-1; rie Colleen Drage, and Gloria Anderson. Miss Faun Anderson ' gave a reading and dancing and . games were conducted by Mrs. Ellen Allen. " ' Delicious refreshments were served to 125 children, by the com mittee: Mrs. Donna Melville, Mrs. Hazel Peterson and Mrs. Gladys Stephenson. More than 400 adults of the . ward enjoyed the program and - supper at the meeting house Monday Mon-day evening, followed by dancing danc-ing at the Farrer high school. - ' Spiced with humor, the program pro-gram was opened by former bishop W. O. Facer, who offered 'to - pinch-hit for the present bishop, . Frank T. Bennett, supposedly late in' arriving. The variety of "im-; "im-; promptu" events, all prearranged ' by the committee, proved amus- . ing to the large crowd. I " William Clawson was master of ceremonies, and later, Bishop Bennett gave a review of the ward activities over the past 40 years. Also, in clever original rhyw, he congratulated the auxiliary officers of-ficers and other ward workers. A gay nineties number was presented pre-sented by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Day, 'Ralph Britsch, Lee Valentine Valen-tine and Miss lone Christensen, and Mr. and Mrs. J. Will Knight presented gifts to different members mem-bers of the ward from an "old" treasure basket. Vibraharp numbers were played by Miss Faun Schmutz.
