May 9, and Saturday, May 10. according to George V. Brown, district commissioner, in preparation prepar-ation for the council camporal which will be held the latter part of May. "A" grade patrols will be re quired as qualifications for participation par-ticipation in the camporal, states Mr. Brown. Purpose of the camporee will be to acquaint scouts with individual indi-vidual and troop camping activities, activi-ties, and provide an early outdoor outing for the scouts. Board of Reviews Set for Thursday Provo district board of reviews, will be held Thursday night at the Brigham Young university, in preparation for a court of honor uhich will be held Sunday, May 12, in the Bonneville ward chapel, states George W. Brown, district commissioner. The court will conclude an inter-troop inter-troop contest, which began in February, and several troops are contesting hotly for top honors, according to Commissioner Brown. Harding- Speaks At Troop 52 Meet LcRoy W. Harding, veteran scouter, Tuesday night gave Troop 52. First ward, a prevention of accidents demonstration. He showed show-ed artificial respiration and band-age-tieing. Scouts Call Off Overnight Hike The overnight trip scheduled for tonight by. Troop 42, Fifth ward, has been postponed until next Friday, according to Scoutmaster Scout-master Dick Peterson. It was also announced that the troop will soon begin its summer swimming trips. Explorers Pass Merit Badge Test Last Thursday Earl Finlayson, Max Mitchell, Gene Byrd and Billy Jay Norton of Explorer Troop 204 S Sixth ward passed the merit badges of personal health and public pub-lic health to Dr. C. M. Smith. Troop members are planning a hike which will be held within the next two weeks. Greer Comes Back From Convention Clarence P. Greer, local district manager for the Farmers Automobile Auto-mobile Inter-Insurance Exchange returned today from the annual Utah convention of the company held Thursday at Salt Lake City. One of the important problems discussed, according to Mr. Greer was the steadily mounting accident acci-dent toll which is directly attributable attrib-utable to the increase, both in automobiles owned and miles driven. Walker, national park ranger in charge. In addition to Timpanogos cave, Hansen and Middle caves, connected connect-ed to the former by tunnel3 through rock, may be viewed by the opening day visitors. Mr. Walker believes the 1941 season will bring more tourists to the famous cave than iu 1940 when 20,000 persons registered at cave headquarters. Roads leading to the cave camp are in good condition. The trail from the camp to the cave entrance ent-rance i3 about a mile long and the incline is gradual enough for almost anyone to negotiate, according ac-cording to cave officials. According to Mr. Walker, the cave has been open to the public for 20 years during which time a total of 180,864 persons have toured tour-ed the underground area. i! v LEHI -4 vi Z STELLA FK1CE Correspondent Phone 8-W ; - LEHI Two Lehi toys, Ralph Trane and Kenneth Kearney, both employed in Salt Lake City, enlisted en-listed in the U. S. air corps this week. They will leave for their training camp Friday. Both boys are graduates of the Lehi high school. Mrs. Andy Trane entertained in honor of her son, Ralph, Sunday, Sun-day, prior to his departure for training in the TJ- S. air corps. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Morris Trane and son, Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Don, Trane and two daughters of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Trane, Mrs. Lcttie Gudmundsen, Mrs. Susan Trane, Miss Rhea Foutz of Salt Lake City, and Keith Trane of Logan. They will spend a half day cleaning clean-ing up the city streets and sidewalks side-walks and a half day on their .own premises, on the official Lem city clean-up day, Ihursday. LEHI Cooperating with the stale board of health, the Lehi Relief are sponsoring an immunization immun-ization camapign for children between be-tween one and six years of age.
