The largest squad in the meet will be entered by Colorado university uni-versity wriich has held the conference con-ference track title for the last two years and is conceded this year's championship. ; ' Only possible threats to the su premacy of the Golden Buffaloes are expected from Colorado State, in the eastern division, and Brig- ham Young university in the west. Colorado- swept the eastern dir vision meet in Denver last week by one of the widest margins ever piled : up ) by S an intermountaln track team. Brigham Young was almost as impressive in the west ern meet in Salt Lake City. Trials Friday- Trials in the conference meet will be run Friday, with finals slated for Saturday except in the case of a limited number of field events, wnich will be completed on. the first day. Record performances ' are ex- , pected at this year's meet since , three performers already have broken conference . records in di .vision and dual-meets earlier in . the season, Loren Creese, , Colorado univer sity weight man, will be trying to better his shot put record he set at last ' week's eastern division meet. More than 80 members of the Provo Boat club attended a gen eraj meeting Wednesday night on the 1 Smith-Strong Sho-Boat, ac cording to Mel D. Close, vice-commodore vice-commodore of the " organization Progress of plana for Provo's two racing regattas, the Memorial Me-morial Day race ' and the July Fourth event, was reported by Bernus M. Bills, chairman of the two contests. : The Memorial Day event to be held on Utah lake are free to the public, Mr. Close ' reports, and should attract nearly 12,000 spec tators. Improvements on the rac 7ng site will make it possible for that many fans to see .the races easily. ' , . . The club also voted to assist the Sea Scout ship, SSS Hanno, with its " boat-constructing pro gram. Deb Tregeagle, leader of the .Sea Scouts thanked the club and told of Scout activities on the lake.
