Show PROVO (UTAH) DAILY HERALD, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 1939 - ) v WARS bfc I A''r "01 iL. nUi P 1 Tli lid no . BAG LONDON, Sept. 21 aT Warsaw's War-saw's radio station informed the world today the city' still va3 fighting -off the surrounding- German Ger-man army after another day of destructive air raid?. It waa the 13th day of the siege. The voice cf the Warsaw announcer, an-nouncer, "Colonel Lipinski," familiar fa-miliar now to all British radio listeners, came through as usually usual-ly Fhortly after midnight -with a "defense army "communique" which said: "Polish troops advanced over two miles in the western (Warsaw) (War-saw) sector. In a fierce bayonet charge, infantry units retook the suburbs of Praga and Wola, capturing cap-turing many prisoners, three heavy and seven light machine guns. Detachments De-tachments of Polish light horse successfully, made repeated charges charg-es dislodging the enemy from intrenched in-trenched positions." y' " " s . Every military expert in Europe Eu-rope had conceded for days that Warsow's plight ' was hopeless. There wa3 nothing Great Britain or France could do to relieve the siege and dispatches reaching Paris said that since the city was eourrounded a week ago it had been, impossible to" get any more food or ammunition to Warsaw War-saw from the'security triangle" around Lemberg in southeast Poland, the only other-region still in Polish hand3. But there "was not a discouraging word In Lipinski's broadcasts throughout last night. .And the fact that he was still on the air gave proof, like the flat at Fort ilcllenry which inspired Franci3 Scott Key's American anthem an-them in 1S14, that the Pole3 "still endured.
