Show MINE FIRST AID TEAM AGAIN WINS FIRST AT FAIR A fast and efficient first aid team from Kennecott Copper Corporation's Corpora-tion's Bingham Canyon mine walked walk-ed off with first place honors in the state championship first aid contest held last Saturday at the Utah State Fairgrounds. They scored scor-ed a total of 2,489 point out of a possible 2,500 points. 1 he six-man team, headed by Ross Pino, was presented the annual an-nual rotating trophy and this year took permanent possession of the trophy having won it three times. The team competed against ten other teams from industries thru-out thru-out Utah. Winning team member included, Mr. Pino, captain and coach; Thomas Tho-mas Johnson, Robert Pullan, Russell Rus-sell Lamb, Vernon Bair and Robert Bruse. 1 he Bingham team also received two other trophies, it was reported. The first aid contest was part of the 32nd annual Safety Convention held in Salt Lake City Thursday through Saturday of taut week, and was the 8th year the contest wa held. Presentation of the trophies was made at the safety banquet held at Prudential Federal Saving Auditorium Audi-torium Saturday night. A U. S. Steel Co. team from the firms Geneva mines near Dragerton with 2,486 points finished in second sec-ond place, and the third place winner win-ner was a team from U. S. Smelting Refining and Mining Co.'s Lark facilities with 2,485 points. |
