Page Classified Church and School y an Editoria "Teen-Age Members Of Ninth Ward Enjoy Annual Banquet Young men and women of the Ninth ward, between the ages of 12 and 20, enjoyed a "Teen-Age" banquet recently re-cently at the ward amusement hall. The dinner party was under, the direction of the bishopric with Ariel S. Ballif, Charles E.. Dean and Elmer L. Terry in charge, ably assisted assist-ed by Murren Sutton, Aaronic priesthood supervisor and Geneva Hansen, young women's supervisor. Places wrere set for 171, who were served a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings. " Clever decoratidns bubbted on the long dining table throughout the dinner. Fish bowls, filled with carbonated water and moth balls, comprised compris-ed the original boiling and bubbling centerpieces. The dinner was prepared by the. Miss Maur-ine Maur-ine Camp was among those appearing ap-pearing on the program and favored fa-vored with a vocal selection. Semf-Forma! Dance Enjoyed OREM The MIA organizations of Vermont and Sharon wards sponsored a semiformal dancing party at the Sharon ward hall Thursday evening. The hall was draped with green and white streamers and lighted very fectively. Program, dancing and refresh m'ents furnish the entertainment for the evening. Mr. and Mrs. A. B Sturgis are announcing the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, LaJean, who will marry Melvin Larsen, son of Mrs. Corty Larson of Mammoth, Utah. The bride-elect is a graduate of Provo high school and LDS seminary. Mr. Larsen was graduated from Tintic high school. The happy young people were Miss Joyce Stone, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Stone and Leon Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albeit C. Peterson. The young couple was honored at a reception at the Salem chapel. The church was beautifully decorated de-corated With daffodils and those standing in the receiving line had a background of candle light. In the line were Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Stone and Mr. and Mrs. Peterson, parents of the bride and groom. LaMar Peterson was best man and Miss Lois McQuivey, maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Leah Cloward. Francis Gardner, Joan Gill is, Dorothy Jean Sabin Ruth Argyle. The bride was charmingly attired at-tired in a . gown of satin and tulle. The flowing net veil was taught with a tiarra of seed pearls. All the ladies in the receiving re-ceiving line wore corsages of red roses and gardenias. Tanner. Red roses made a lovely centerpiece cen-terpiece for the dining table where the guests enjoyed a delicious de-licious dinner. The guest of honor had a lovely corsage of similar roses. Along with her many gifts, she was presented a beautiful birthday cake. During the dance refreshments were served in the banquet room on and ! small tables with daffodil center pieces. The beautiful tiered wedding wed-ding cake was a center of interest in the room. Serving were friends of the bride. Tables were in charge of Mrs. Louise Card, Helen Stone, and Lenore Stoker. Hostesses Hos-tesses in the gift room were Viola Peterson and Serena Sorenson. More than 300 persons were in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Peterson Peter-son will reside at Salem. Cub Pack 3051 Welcomes Boys Receiving new members. Bobby Bob-by Lyon, Bryan Goldsworthy, Gary Peterson and Rue Lawrence, Law-rence, Cub Pack. 3051 met for their monthly meeting Friday evening at the Community church. The new members had all passed their bob cat tests. Tommy Pierpont was presented the lion badge and a gold and silver arrow. Bob Lynn and Ernest Er-nest Olsen, workers with Mrs. Stone's Den, gave an interesting demonstration of knot tying. The rest of the boys showed their appreciation ap-preciation by giving the grand howl. Mrs. Tom Pierpont conducted con-ducted a necktie tying relay. Mrs. Olive Williams, in charge of the Den on the west side, was present. The meeting closed with the singing of taps. Orem G I ub Votes For Donation OREM The members of the ,Orem Literary club were entertained enter-tained by Mrs. Thomas Jacob at her home, Thursday afternoon Mothers, Girls, Party Mothers and daughters of the Sunset ward Beehive class were guests of honor at a party given by Mrs. Elden Anderson and Mrs. Harry Hansen Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Anderson. MIA officers, Mrs. Ivan Peay and Mrs. Harold Jensen were special guests fpr the affair. A tasty luncheon was served the beehive girls and their mothers moth-ers after which entertaining games were played and a program pro-gram enjoyed. Elizabeth Gould, Colleen Adamson and Norma Leonard favored with a trio arrangement ar-rangement and Shirley Anderson and Joan Shepard delighted the listeners with guitar selections. Perry of Provo. Marriage rites were solemnized Monday January 13 in Elko, Nevada. Ne-vada. "Family Night" Slated For Dixon Patrons Mrs. Nona Goodson will conduct con-duct the last in a series of discussions dis-cussions on "Guiding the Adolescent Ado-lescent Child," Monday evening at 7:30 o'clock at the Dixon Junior high school. PTA sponsors of the discussions discus-sions have been gratified with the response from the school patrons. Approximately 40 parents have attended each meeting and have participated during the open discussion dis-cussion period. Endeavoring to put into practice prac-tice some of the principles learned, a "Family Night" has been' arranged at the school for Friday, February 10.
