Guests were received at the door by Mr. and Mrs. Byron Geslison. In the receiving line were Mr. and Mrs. Munda Ges-lison, Ges-lison, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Thomas, Thom-as, James Barton, brother of the groom as best man; the bride and groom, Mrs. Jack Q. Johnson as matron of honor; Leo la Gisleson, maid of honor, Mrs. James K. Williams attending matron, Dar-leen Dar-leen and Coleen Olson as flower girls. . The bride was beautifully gowned in white slipper satin entrain and styled with a sweetheart sweet-heart neckline, long pointed sleeves and bustle effect. Her Veil of bride's illusion fell from a fiara of illusion with a cluster of range blossoms at each side. She tarried a bouquet of bride's roses Centered with a white orchid. The Attendants wore identical models f eyelet and net in pastel shades nd carried colonial bouquets of sters and gardenias. . Mrs. Clarence Argyle displayed the bride's exquisite trousseau and Mesdames Leona Geslison, Alice Olson and Freda Bigler were in charge of the gift room. They were assisted by Coleen Johnson, and Laurel Argyle. As-j sis ting in serving were Misses Kathryn Anderson, Louise Gardner, Gard-ner, Ruth McKell, Emma Jean Johnson, and the mesdames Lorna Miller, Maxine Partridge and Romagene Christensen. Mrs. Thelma McKell and Mrs. Francis J. Clark rendered vocal and organ music throughout the evening. The couple will ' make their home in Salt Lake City following a honeymoon trip to Yellowstone, Yellow-stone, Glacier NationakPark and Canada. ProvoGirl Wed In Denver Miss Beth Chauvie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Chauvie left Thursday for Denver, Colo., for her marriage Saturday to Owen Fanning. The nuptials took place at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fanning, and the newlyweds will make their home in Denver, for the time being, be-ing, "s Mr. Fanning is attending school and in December, the couple plan to leave for a month's honeymoon tour, to include several days in Prove Mr. Fanning was in the navy for three years, serving in the south Pacific, China and Japan. Engagement Announcements Take Spotlight Miss Bertin To Be Wed Donna Mae Bertin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Cherrington, will become the bride of Alvin F. Pendleton, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin F. Pendleton, Sr., of Magna, at quiet nuptial rites, September 15, at the home of the bride-elect. Miss Bertin was graduated from the Provo high school, attended the University of Washington for one year, and has been at the U S A C two years, where she is affiliated with Alpha Chi Omega. Graduate of Cyprus high school, Mr. Pendleton attended the U S A C for a year, after which he took A S T P training and served with the army engineers in the south Pacific. He attended the A C one quarter last year and was affiliated with Sigma Chi The young couple plan to live! in Logan, where they will finish their schooling. Plans For Early Spring Mr. and Mrs. S. Cannon Jones announce the engagement of their daughter, Ella Montez, to Charles F. Pulham, son of Bishop and! Mrs. Arch Pulham of Orem. The' wedding will take place in the' early spring. Miss Jones was graduated from! the B Y high school where she was active in club activities. Mr. Pulham graduated from the Lincoln Lin-coln high school and L D S seminary. Both are planning to attend the Brigham Young university this year. Before a mantel draped with white crepe and decorated with ferns and white flowers the double-ring ceremony was performed per-formed by the bishop of the L D S Fairmont ward in San Diego. Witnessing the ceremony were the bride's mother, Mrs. Jack Henline who accompanied the bride to California: the sister of the bridegroom and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Von Lerwill, and his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. George Whiting of San Francisco and a few close friends who also attended the lovely home reception recep-tion which followed. The couple will remain in San Diego for the present where Mr. Warner is stationed at the navy repair base as a Fireman 2c. Both young people were students of the local high school. The couple were honored with a wedding reception Friday evening in the Mapleton ward hall with a large crowd in attendance. She wore an exquisite gown of traditional white satin; finger-tip sleeves of white lace matched her veil of lace-edged bride's illusion, and she carried as her bouquet white gladioli centered with red roses. Maid and attending maid of honor were Miss Emma Jean Snow and the groom's sister, Mis Naomi Bylund. who wore gowns of pale pink with matching corsages cor-sages of gladioli. Making up the rest of the receiving line were five bridesmaids, the Misses Jane Johnson, Carol Mae Davis, Ruth Warner. Gerry Johnson. Theone Stewart the groom and best man, Junior Butler and the parents oi the couple, Mr. and Mrs. John K. Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Hebry Bylund. Guests were received at the door by Mrs. Eleanor Taylor, and two younger sisters of the couple, Lois Johnson and Miss Carol Jean Bylund. Assisting in the gift room were Misses Lynette Johnson. John-son. Renee Johnson, and Ruth Snow. Preliminary organ music was played by Mrs. Harvey Nielsen and a program was conducted later in the evening by LeRoy Whitehead, master of ceremonies. The promenade of the wedding march followed the program and the bridal waltz opened an evening eve-ning of dancing. Gifts were displayed dis-played under the direction of Mrs. Thelma Snow and Mrs. Blanche Gardner. Mrs. Cora McKell was in charge of the refreshment room. Artists' Section At Work Meeting Members of the artists' section of the Women's Council, in regular reg-ular work meeting Friday at the clubhouse, painted gladioli and zinnias. The lesson was given by the instructor, Mrs. Bessie E. Gour-ley. Gour-ley. Mrs. Scott Taylor, chairman, presided.
