Gilson and husband of Ila Jean E. Gilson arrived home this week from Italy where he served with the 15th army air force. He was a lead squadron navigator and completed com-pleted 35 missions. He wears the air medal and three oak leaf clusters and the distinguished flying fly-ing cross with a presidential unit citation. Lt. Gilson graduated from Pay-son Pay-son high school in 1941 and was a student at the University of Utah until he entered the service esrly in 1943. He will report at Santa Monica. An Eighth air force announcement announce-ment said it was believed to be the first such use of rockets with a heavy bomber. Capt Richard Holub of Grass Valley. Jack Z. Anderson, R., Calif., has suggested that the United States negotiate with Great Brit ain to obtain possession of Tar awa. Selective Placement System Announced In order that returning war veterans rhay be placed in pos itions where their skills may be utilized", the United States Em ployment Service has evolved a system of "selective placement" of disable servicemen, lt was re ported today by w. Applications For Shoes Fqr Exceeds Supplies The number of applications for shoes at the Provo Office of Price Administration is far exceeding ex-ceeding supplies, declared Lynn Moulton, war price and rationing board chairman, today. The public is urged to take care of the shoes now on hand, having them repaired in as many cases as possible, to relieve the shortage of shoes and to avoid a further scarcity of them, Mr. Moulton said.
