C-A-S-H-! for Used Trucks and Used Cars Cannon-Ashton 191 So. Univ.? Provo, Utah Extra Gasoline To Be Allowed to Victory Gardeners WASHINGTON, April 24 OLE) Victory gardeners those cultl vating 1,500 square feet or more will get extra gasoline rations this summer if they can show need for extra mileage, the Office Of Price Administration announced today. - OPA has amended its regulations regula-tions to provide up to 300 miles for victory garden travel At 15 miles per gallon, that would give the city "farmer" some 20 extra gallons during the gardening season. sea-son. The special victory garden ration, ra-tion, issued through the "B" coupons, cou-pons, is - a result of Agriculture Department and Office of Civlian Defense demands. Those agencies advised that many city residents were ready and willing but unable un-able to take ovor the care of gardens gar-dens in outlying districts because they couldn't get to them. To prevent ill-conceived hopes that this supplemental rationing can be used for cheating on gasoline gaso-line rationing, OPA announced these regulations to govern the program. 1. This 1,500 square feet has to t3 cultivated regularly, and vegetables, vege-tables, not pansies, must be' grown. 2. The garden, farmer must show he can't get to his garden any other way than driving and that his labor is necessary for its cultivation. cul-tivation. This limitation will not apply, OPA pointed out, to city residents regularly employed on farms. These city-living farm-working farm-working folk "will continue to be eligible for occupation mileag. 3. The urban dweller who wants to cultivate a rural plot must arrange, ar-range, if possible, to share his car with other gardeners.
