Quick of Ogden. The Rev. Ferguson performed the ceremony and was in charge. The bride, who was given in marriage by If. C Tanner, wore a pale blue dress, with small black "hat and veil, end a corsage of deep red roses tied with fcilver. Miss -Marie Burton attended as biidesmaid, and wore a beige ensemble, and pearls, a gift from the 'bride. He. corsage was of tea roses tied with gold. Clarence Skousen was best man. . Huge clusters of gladioli and white tapers in silver candelabra decorated the church. Miss Melba Dastrup, sir.ter of the bride, was the soloist, and sang two numbers, "O Promise Me," and "At Dawning." She wore, a black costume with tea roses tied with gold. A dinner for 14 guests was served at El Merendero. Tapers turned in crystal holders, and a beautifully decorated wedding cake surrounded by holly leaves, formed the table centerpiece. - The young couple will reside in Ogden. The bride" is a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Dastrup of Provo, and Mr. Quick is a son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Quick of Anaconda, Montana. Mon-tana. ' . . La Veil Turner of 1 leasant Grove was arrested by George Taul, city marshal, Thursday evening eve-ning for failure to yield the right of way, and for parking on the wrong side of ! the road. Turner was booked when he allegedly pulled on the secondary highway near the First north intersection, intersec-tion, obstructing the path of a southbound- car, driven by Ray Nelscn, 20, also of Pleasant Grove. The damage to automobiles automo-biles was slight, according to the official report. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Armitstead on Christmas day were Mr. and Mrs. John L. Provo City Employees At Gala Holiday Dinner -Dance Among the liveliest of uletide parties given this season was the annual Provo city employees' party, held at the Hotel Roberts Saturday evening. Places were laid for 150 guests for the 7 o'clock dinner, and with George S. Ballif as master of ceremonies, a delightful de-lightful program followed. Special guests included members of the library board, zoning commission, beard of utilities, and the civil service committee. Commissioners and heads of departments were introduced. Community singing was led by John W. McAdam, accompanied by Mrs. Phyllis R. Brown. Mayor Mark Anderson addressed the large group, after which vocal numbers were furnished by Miss !Elaine Brown, accompanied by Miss Emma Hayes, also by Sterling Ster-ling Bu.h, accompanied by Byron Jensen. . A Pan - American decorative scheme was featured, the colors green and yellow predominating. Gay favors, in the form of New Year's torches, were given. A delightful feature of the dance was the balloon shower; also a novelty floor show under the direction of Miss Myrtle Tanner Tan-ner and Mrs. Phyllis R. Brown. Song and dance numbers were furnished by the Floradora Girls, including Georgia Culllmore, Betty Bet-ty Pratt, Elinor Brockbank and Rosemary Hanseen. A reading, dedicated to Mayor Anderson, was given by Eli Tippetts, a ballroom dance, a waltz, was presented by Betty Pratt and Grant Bandley, and a specialty number under the direction of Miss Tanner. Hawaiian Ha-waiian .offerings featured trio selections' se-lections' by Reuben and Ben Ohal and Willard Kekaasha, Hawiian stuiinta of the B. "Y. Aged Salem Man Feted in Provo ;i ' 1 - vl The family of Andrew Iverson, 90, oldest resident of Salem, celebrated cele-brated his birthday anniversary Saturday at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Iverson of 429 North University avenue. I In spite of his advanced years, Mr. Iverson is enjoying ! good neaun and is unusually active. He .was born in.. Norway and came 6 mis country when 18 years of age. ' He is the oldest quarry man who worked on the Salt Lake I D. S. temple, and has always , been active ac-tive in church duties, .particularly in temple work. He. is a high priest. . ... ! His wife, Julia Olsen Iverson, died 16 years ago. They had1 12 children, five of whom are living, as follows : Charles M. v Iverson, Provo; V. H. Iverson, and Mrs. Eunice I. Gardner of Salem, Mrs. Minnie I. Hodapp of American Fork, and Mrs. Bessie I. Jenkins of Salt Lake City. There are, 26 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. grand-children. Covers were laid for 25 family members at a Christmas dinner held Saturday at the Iverson home. A huge birthday cake, holding hold-ing 90 candles, centered the long dining table, and Christmas decorations decor-ations were about the house. An impromptu program of music and sentiments followed and gifts were presented to the guest of honor. The Highland M-Men'lost their first basketball game of the season, sea-son, dropping a 57-23 decision to Alpine. Mrs. E. A. Buckley has returned to her home in West Jordan, after spending Christmas here with her daughter. Miss Amelia Buckley. The two were dinner guests of Mrs. Buckley's sister and brother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Christen Jen-- sen, at their home Christmas day. Dr. Jensen left that evening for an educational convention in Chicago, and will return home New Year's day. A gift from her officers and the past matron's jewel, were presented to Mrs. Pearl Blumenthal, retiring matron, mat-ron, also a beautiful bouquet oi roses to Mrs. Vera Perham. , After the meeting refreshments were served to 100 person, Slack of Salt Lake City, united the couple in marriage at 7 o'clock, as they stood in front of the fireplace, which was banked with fern. Talisman roses and tall white candles graced the mantelpiece. The bride wore a handsome royal blue velvet dress, modeled along princess lines, with elbow- length sleeves and a square neck. She wore beautiful pearls, blue shoes and held a bouquet of Easter lillies and Talisman roses- She was attended by the Misses Loraine King and Bettie Peterson, whose frocks of a lighter blue silk crepe were fashioned similar to that of the bride. They wore corsages of pink rosebuds. Earl Slack, brother of the groom, was best man. Mrs. Street, mother of the bride, was gowned in black silk crepe, and Mrs. Slack was In blue silk crepe. They wore white sweet peas and pink roses. A buffet supper was served im mediately after the ceremony. An exquisite pineapple lmen cloth covered the table, which was cen tered with a tiered white and silver sil-ver wedding cake and white x-dles x-dles in silver holders. A lighted Christmas tree fctood in the dining room. . In addition to both parents, there were present: Mr. and Mrs. Horace Slack of Pleasant View, grandparents of the groom; Mr. and Mrs. Heber Slack of Salt Lake, Earl Slack, LeRoy J. Hope's mother is the former Miss Olen Peterson of Provo. The child and her parents, together with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Doan (the former Ardis Peterson), will spend New Year's with the parents of the two women, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Peterson of Provo.
