According to Robert Milligan, the farmer who made the capture, he and his sons, Kent, 14, and Jerry, 18, were stopped on a road near here by a log placed across it. Milligan charged that Smith threatened his sons and then shot at him. Missing him by a few inches." Bardia itself lies between two wadis. British officers believed the Italian guns and antiaircraft battel bat-tel ies were being handled by personnel per-sonnel from the Italian navy.
