R. section No. 12 entertainment for members mem-bers and guests, Friday afternoon at the residence of Mrs. A. C Lambert. The open session affair, enjoyable enjoy-able from start to finish, was held on the beautiful and spacious lawns of the Lambert home, and the hostess was assisted by Mrs. Emma Wakefield, Mrs. Eliza Merrill, Mer-rill, Mrs. Josephine Bird, Mrs. Clothield Newren and Mrs. Anna Taylor. Prof. WilUam F. Hanson of the B. Y. U., with a group of talented talent-ed singers, presented a program of his Compositions, including selections from the' opera, "Sun Dance." The beautiful numbers follow: Soprano solos, "To The One I Love," Miss Hilma Henrie; "Because "Be-cause I Miss You So," lyrics by Mrs. Elsie C. Carroll, and "The Promise," Ted Maynard; "To the Witches and Fairies," and "On Burning Sands Asleep," from the "Sun Dance," Miss Edith Harrison; Harri-son; "Sea Goes" and "Dreams," Harry Lindley; "To A Star," from the "Sun Dance," Miss Mary McGregor; Mc-Gregor; "Rag Man," words by W. Stanley Dunford, Vernon Lea-Master; Lea-Master; "Dream Garden," words by the late Prof. E. H. Eastmond, Miss Hilma Henrie; Five child number by Alberta Huish Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, put to music by Prof. Hanson. Tasty refreshments were served serv-ed on beautiful hand-painted china, the work of Mrs. Joseph Gourley. Attractive garden baskets and vases held colorful blooms, and a collection of paintings by the late E. H. Eastmond, and his sister, Mrs. Gourley, proved interesting. in-teresting. Fifty members and guests were present. Odd Fellows Hold Party Odd Fellows and Rebekahs and theirfriends enjoyed a social time at Pioneer park Friday evening. Literary League Tea Being Planned - L Arrangements were discussed for the annual Literary League tea, to be held Saturday, Sept. 18, at the residence of Mrs. Hetoer C. Johnson, at a meeting held at the home of the president, Mrs. Neal Thurman, Friday afternoon. Miss Rheta Kay is chairman of the general arrangements committee, com-mittee, and is being assisted by Mrs. Clifton Tolboe, Mrs. Neal Thurman and Mrs. Heber C. Johnson. John-son. All of the women are working on various committees for the affair, af-fair, which is always of outstanding outstand-ing interest. Invitations are being mailed to the club women of Provo and special spe-cial guests. Teacher Under the Knife At Hospital SPRINGVILLE Miss Helen Palfreyman, Springville teacher, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rapheal Palfreyman of this city, was in a serious condition Saturday, Sat-urday, following a major operation opera-tion at a Spanish Fork hospital earlier in the week. Miss Palfreyman Palfrey-man had signed a contract to teach in the Salt Lake City schools this year. THREE KILLED ON MONTANA PROJECT POLSON, Mont., Sept. 4 U.R) Three men were dead today when they were buried under more than 10 feet of dirt at the Poison dam site, six miles southwest of here. The dead are Paul Innes, 35, Ronan; Baptiste Pierre, 41, Arlee; and John Mathias, 28, Elmo. A fourth worker was only partially buried but uninjured.
