Coach Sanky Dixon's Lincoln high gridders began the season with a punch Friday by tripping Le'hi 12 to 0 on the latter's field. The first half saw no scores pushed across the line, although Lehi threatened twice. The Pelicans Peli-cans advanced to Lincoln's eight-yard eight-yard line in the first quarter, but was held when Lincoln forwards surged tnrough and tossed Lehi backs for sizeable losses. In the second quarter, Lehi advanced to the 15 yard line before being .stopped. A 23-yard gain by Gillespie ended end-ed across the goal in the third period, but a penalty nullified the score. A few minutes later, however, how-ever, he raced 63 yards for a touchdown which counted. In the fourth qarter, a Lehi fumble was recovered five yards from the goal, and Gilelspie circled end for another- score. Overpowered throughout the game, the Provo Bulldogs fell 7 to 25 before the attack of the Delta high gridders on the local field Friday. Delta scored three touchdowns in the first half while blanking the locals. They garnered seven more tallies in the closing minutes of the game after Provo had counted coun-ted its only touchdown In the third period Oran Bennett, fiery Delta quarterback, quar-terback, scored early in the game when he skirted end on a 20-yard run. Frank Lyman plunged over the goal for Delta's second touchdown touch-down after his mates had made a long drive from midfield. Just before be-fore the half ended, Mosley, Rabbit Rab-bit halfback, intercepted a Bulldog Bull-dog pass and galloped 70 yards to a score. Provo's touchdown came near the end of the third quarter. The Bullodgs made a gallant stand in this period and completely outplayed out-played their rivals. Clark carried the pigskin over the goal, and Dahlquist plaekicked the extra point. With six minutes to go. Delta began a drive from midfield that wasn't stopped until the Rabbits were on Provo's 2-yard marker. Provo punted to their own 40-yard lin". Bennett received the oval and rated down the sidelines for a touchdown. Frank Lyman hit the line for the extra point. Lentz was elected president of the Provo Women's Golf association for next year at a luncheon at the home of Mrs. C. T.
