Club Tea Prominent Among Social Events of Week PROMINENT among the social functions of the past week was the tea given by the Provo Business and Professional Profession-al Women's club, Saturday from 3:30 to 5:30 o'clock at the lovely residence of Mrs. R. Garn Clark on North University avenue. Miss Amelia Buckley, tea chairman, greeted the 200 guests, and the receiving line comprised Mrs. Ethel D. Rambeau, Ram-beau, president; Miss Grace Cheever, state president; Mrs. R. Gam Clark, first vice president; Mrs. Amanda Banks, second vice president ; Mrs. Gladys C. Nielsen, corresponding secretary, and Miss Lora Dunn, treasurer. Miss Buckley is recording secretary. The delightful affair was attended by members of the following women's clubs and organizations of Provo: Alice Louise Reynolds club sections, 5 Utah Sorosis, Beta Sorosis, la dies' Literary, Fine Arts, Nelke,, Nineteenth Century, Literary League, B. Y. U. Women, P. H. S. Women, Utah Epsilon chapter of Delta Theta Chi, American Legion auxiliary. Women's Council, Utah stake Y. W. M. I. A. board, Utah ..taw Relief Societv board, and the Provo board members of the Utah county Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Beautiful string music was played play-ed during the afternoon by Mr. and Mrs. Donald Olsen and Miss Carma Ballif, and lovely vocal numbers were rendered by Miss May Banks and Miss Hilma Hen-iie. Hen-iie. Baskets and jardinieres filled with bright autumn leaves and flowers of the season added to the beauty of the receptior. rooms. The dining table was covered with an elegant cream lace cloth over gold, and held a handsome oblong silver centerpiece of marigolds and fern, in which stood a dozen or more lighted slender candles in the colors, cream. pink and green. At either end of the table were two gheen tapers in silver holders and a silver service was used. Members of the club attended to the serving, and assisted in welcoming wel-coming the guests. Miss Buckley was assisted in carrying out plans for the affair by Mrs. R. Garn Clark. Allen of Provo. October 14 has been set as the wedding date,, the ceremony to be performed in the Salt Lake temple. The couple will then leave for a three week's honeymoon through the northwest and California. They will return to Provo to make their home. The bride-elect is a former student of the B. Y. U. and a graduate of the L. D. S. hospital nurses' school in 1934. Sinco that time she has been employed em-ployed in the office of her brother, Dr. L. 0. Oaks, in the Provo Medical building. Mr. Allen, a former student of the B. Y. U.. has been employed by the Monte Young Carnival company for several years. A well appointed wedding supper sup-per followed, and later, the party went to the Bonneville ward amusement hall, where a dancing danc-ing affair was tendered the young couple by their parents. The hall was attractive with choice garden flowers and fern. A short program was presented at intermission, and tasty re-feshments re-feshments were served to the 200 guests. Joseph Jones, friend of the family, was master of ceremonies. Handsome gifts were presented to the couple. Mr. and Mrs. Hutchings will make their home in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Leighton of Grass Valley. Cal., (Nellie Allen) who were married Sept. 2, at Long Beach, Cal., came from the coast to attend the wedding. Muhlestein wish to announce an-nounce the engagement of their daughter, Josephine, Jose-phine, to Karl E. Webb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Eu-gene Webb of Lehi. King gave a wedding reception Thursday Thurs-day evening in the Sixth ward hall, honoring their daughter, Melba, and Harlo La Fay Clayton Clay-ton son of Mr. and Mrs. Don C. Olavton. who were married in the Salt Lake temple Wednesday. The ceremony was performed by George F. Richards,, in the presence of the parents of the groom, and Don C. Clayton, Sr. After the ceremony, the young couple were entertained at a dinner din-ner at Keelevs in Salt Lake City. Two hundred guests attended the reception. The hall was beautifully beauti-fully decorated in a red and white color scheme, fall flowers being employed. A lovely gown of white chiffon, trimmed with white satin was worn by the bride, and her corsage cor-sage was of red roses. The receiving re-ceiving line comprised the bride and groom and their parents, and M. Clayton, Sr., the grandfather. Paul White and his orchestra furnished the music for dancing. Kenner Clayton was master of ceremonies, and a short program was presented at intermission. Tasty refreshments were served. Beautiful gifts were presented to the newlyweds, the gift table being be-ing in charge of Mrs. William Losee and Miss Lucile King, sister sis-ter of the bride, and Mrs. Louise King, a sister-in-law.
