Anderson entertained very pleasantly Monday evening in honor of her husband's birthday anniversary. A turkey dinner was served at 8 o'clock covers being laid for the immediate family and Mr. and Mrs. David Robertson, Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Dast-rup Dast-rup Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ernshaw, Mr.' and Mrs. LeRoy Jensen and Vincent Kennedy all of Salt Lake, Mr and Mrs. Jack -Qbcrhansley, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Rounds and Mr and Mrs. Golden Waldron of Spanish Fork. Following dinner the time was spent visiting. Mrs. Ella Braithwaite was hostess host-ess to the Self Culture club Friday evening. Luncheon was served at small tables at 8 o'clock. The hostess host-ess was assisted by her daughters, Ruth and June Braithwaite and Mrs. Arthur Livingstone. Following Follow-ing luncheon, the lesson for the evening, "The Life of Sir Walter Scott," was given by Mrs. Grace Krueger. Singing was under the direction of Mrs. Edna Brockbank. Mrs. Marie Nelson was hostess to There were 16 members present, j the Sorosis club Saturday evening. Luncheon was served at the card tables at 8 o'clock. Four table of bridge followed, Mrs. Sarah Sterling winning the guest prize,! Mrs I C. Nelson the club prize for high score and Miss Ethel Hales the consolation prize. The guests included Mrs. Sterling, Mrs. Frank Hughes and Mrs. Gil Taylor. Tay-lor. Mrs. Kate Davis who is convalescing con-valescing following a long illness, is spending several weeks with her daughter in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Mark BoyackXere Springville visitors Tuesday. A ward party was given at Palmyra Pal-myra Wednesday evening in honor cf Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Money who are moving out of the ward. Mr. ' Money was formerly first counselor to Bishop Ed R. Huntington. The hostesses were Mrs. Ed Clark and Mrs. Genevieve Williams, daughter and daughter-in-law of the guest of honor. The function was a dinner party at the home of Mrs. Clark. A well arranged dinner was served at six o'clock, covers being laid for Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Thomas B. Jones, Mrs. Sherman Sher-man McGarry. Fugal Wednesday Wednes-day evening and organized a "Home Reading Circle." Mrs. Horace Hor-ace Monson was chosen as president presi-dent of the organization, with Mrs. Lyean Johnson, vice president; Mrs. Ernest Clayton, secretary; and Mrs. H. S. Walker, Mrs. J. P. Fugal, and Mrs. Mary Cooper, the board of directors. It was agreed that meetings would be held at 7:30 p. m., the firrt and tihird Wednesdays of each month. The next meeting will We held at the home of Mrs. Mary Hill. The two books to be discussed at this meeting meet-ing are: "Everyday Good Manners for Boys and Girls," and "Charm by Choice." The Lindon-Orem Dairy Association Associa-tion held a meeting for stockholders stockhold-ers Monday afternoon in the Lin-don Lin-don hall. Dr. Brown of the state board of health gave a talk on "The Proper Care of Milk for Dairy Purposes." The new board of directors di-rectors chosen were: Clyde Gill-man, Gill-man, Gilbert Richardson, Irving Hooley, H. B. Thorne and Eldon Swenson. The Pleasant Grove Irrigation company held its annual stockholders stockhold-ers meeting at the high school Saturday Sat-urday afternoon. Secretary Joseph Larson gave a report of the year's work and three new board members mem-bers were elected: From district 1, L. M. Atwood; district 3, Niels Fugal, Fu-gal, District 5, Leonard Fryer. These three men with the two hold overs, Herman Green and Edward Jeppson constitute the board. Effie Mary Warnick, daughter of President and Mrs. Wilford W. Warnick and Arza Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. and Mrs. Dan Adams were married in the Salt Lake temple Thursday, January 12. On Friday evening President and Mrs. Warnick gave a reception in honor of the young couple at the Manila amusement hall. E. Hoover, of Grand Meadow, Minn., came to Des Moines, accompanied ac-companied by sympathetic neighbors neigh-bors to seek a settlement with the Des Moines joint stock land bank which holds a mortgage on his farm. Interest on the mortgage was past due and Hoover was ready, he said, to sign a deed relinquishing possession of his farm but he wants assurance that a deficiency judgment judg-ment won't be brought against him and he seeks to rent the place back. Hoover said his fattier and the president's father were brothers. Corbell. Refreshments were served serv-ed to 35 members and visitors.
