WILSON - The people, and there are hundreds hun-dreds of them, who these days drive down to the lake for skat ing, sporting; or business purposes are-both pleased and appreciative of the si endid work recently done by the streets deartment under 'the fine supervision's of Commissioner Commis-sioner McGuire and his very able assistantfMr. Brown. The road is now , in splendid condition for this time of the" year due to recent re-cent surfacing: with gTavel preparatory prep-aratory to some kind of processing process-ing next spring or in the early summer with oil or asphalt. Having the safety .of the public in mind, and this subject should be first in the mind of every one ' having this kind of work in charge, the various turns ii the road along the river are now fenced and the banks cleared of brush that has "hitherto made driving more or less a hazard due to poor visability. Much other work has also been done that together to-gether with what is expected to be done in the near future, .will make this drive a boulevard of real merit and a pleasure to the people who- see beauty and derive de-rive pleasure in visiting the lake that when normal, is the largest body of fresh water existing between be-tween the Great Lakes and the "West coast. It is now to be hoped that our officials will rigidly enforce the law prohibiting the dumping of ruzbish alonp this route by either thoughtless individuals or those who through nothing but pure 'cussedness" mar the natural beauty of this locality. Now, in behalf of the thousands thou-sands of children who, during the summer enjoy wading in the shallow shal-low pool scaused by the lake overflowing over-flowing its natural shoreline, would we be presumptuous in suggesting that the city send a truck and a few men down for a day to pick up the broken glass already strewn along the lake shore, before be-fore the rapidly rising water covers cov-ers it up, forming a menace to the feet of these wading youngsters young-sters ? c M.B.C.-RED NETWORK "THE BSBoIsZ STATION" : WEDNESDAY, JAN. 18 P.
