Show PAGE EIGHT PROVO (UTAH) EVENING HERALD, THURSDAY, APJIIL 14, 1938 SECTION TWO IT- Utah Doy Wins Stock Show Prize SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, April 14 (U.P) Verl Anderson, a member of the Tremonton, Utah, Future Farmers of America unit, today was awarded the grand championship pivze in the baby beef division of the 11th annual Interstate Junior Livestock Show. Tiburcia Alvarez, Klamath. Ore., and Earl Foor, San 'Luis Obispo, were runners-up in hotly contested final judging which marked the end of exhibition. The prize animals will .be auctioned tomorrow. It was the second time in 11 years that the grand championship champion-ship had come to a Utah entrant. Bill Hight and Roy Hurlburt, neighboring farm youths from king county who have memberships member-ships in the same Four-H club, won grand championships for hog exhAits. Cello Recital to Be HeldTonight Advanced cello and string ensemble en-semble students of Gustav Bug-gert, Bug-gert, instructor in music at Brig-ham Brig-ham Young university, will be presented in recital tonight i-n College hall at 8 p. m. Twelve compositions from the pens of such popular composers as Wagner, Wag-ner, Schubert. Saint-Saens, and Mozart will be played. The program ranges all the way from lighter music such a.? Gas Prices Drop Gas prices throughout Utah county are slated to drop l1.. cents per gallon immediately Frank Bradley, executive secretary of Utah Association of Petroleum Dealers, reported late Tuesday. " Retail stations in Utah, Salt Lake, Davis and Weber counties are to be effected he reports. The change follows a like drop in distributors' dis-tributors' tank-wagon prices - to retailers. Dealers in other parts of the state will not share in the reduction. Reason for the change is said to be due to gas companies using us-ing Wyoming or mid-continent rrude oil cutting tank-wagon priced a cent and a half to meet .competition by truck-in firms.
