The Blue and White basketeers took a light workout Monday, and then scrimmaged with the reserves yesterday, showing all the fire and zip of a team headed for the title. Reports sifting down from the Ute stronghold say that the Redskins Red-skins are shivering in their tepees te-pees over the coming invasion of the fast traveling Cougars. After having dusted off a place in the trophy case for the cup signifying the Big Seven championship, the Indians suddenly find themselves with a struggle on their hands, instead in-stead of the light workout they expected. Players In Top Shape-Coach Shape-Coach "Buck" Dixon, with his usual frankness, said yesterday that he thought that the "Y" was in the spot to win Friday. All the team is in top shape, with the exception of Glen Allen and Charlev Roberts. Allen's ailment is an Infected leg. while all that Is bothering Roberts is a slight charley-horse. Roberts, in the scrimmage last night, didn't appear ap-pear to be slowed down much by the bad leg. Working out on the first five last night was the combination that functioned so well against the Aggies and Denver LaVar Kump and Stan "Ma" Watts at forwards. Willard Deavitt at center, cen-ter, and Charley Roberts and Jack Chris tensen on the gurfrd line. This Quintet lacks height, but it doesn't seem to bother them a great deal when it comes to hitting- the bucket. On the second squad. "Buck" had Bill Pardoe and Eddie Smart playing forward. Smart was picked pick-ed up to fill in until Allen gets back in suit so that the varsity can scrimmage. Male Booth played center, with Chad Beck-stead Beck-stead and Vir Richins at guard. This five did very well against the first team in fact if. a score had been kept probably they would have come out on the long end.
