The same num ber of teams also remain for the consolation championship. The semi-final matches will be played Friday afternoon, and the cham pionship matches and the award mg ot prizes Tuesday. Friday's matches will start at 3 p. m. and next Tuesdays will begin at 2 p. m. Merle Hedquist and Mrs. Blaine Ward advanced to the finals by defeating Mrs. Pearl Liddaird and Mrs. Thelma Leavitt in a close game by a score ot 1190 to 740 ihev then took part in a draw with the other three teams tor the right to move into the finals, which they won. Mrs. D. Orlo Allen and Mrs. Frank Reynolds outpointed Mrs. J. Karl Beck and Mrs. A. Kirk-patrick Kirk-patrick by a score of 2760 "to 60 to taKe high scoring honors ior the day. The tournament, with 50 ladies taking part has proven to be one of the most successiul bridge meetings ever held in Provo tne entries doubling last years, and nearly all matches oemg closely contested. Last year's cnampion-ship cnampion-ship match was decided by 10 points in a 16 hand match, and it is expected that the final matches this year will be a close battle of wits. Provo Group In Ogden A group of Provoans, members of the Knights of Pythias lodge, and Pythian Sisters organibation, motored to Ogden Tuesday evening, even-ing, to attend the visitation to the Ogden Pythian Sisters, of the "-rand chief, Rosa Williams of Park City. i'he afrair was held at the K. of P. hall, and an elaborate banquet ban-quet was served to 54 guests. Those from Provo included: H. G. Blumenthall, Mrs. Pearl Mc-Auley, Mc-Auley, grand senior; Mrs. Alberta Nimer and Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Moe. Mrs. McAuley made a speech during the program. There were representatives present from al' orders of the state, the Provoans report. Arts Programme Tonight At First Ward The third offering of theM.I.A. Arts Programme will be presented pre-sented this evening at 7:30 o'clock in the First ward hall, when Mrs Marba C. Josephson of Salt Lake City, reviews "The Importance of Living," Dr. Lin Yutang, noted Chinese and American scholar. Mrs. Josephson is associate editor of the Improvement Era, as well as being an instructor at the Lion House Social center. Also, she is a member of the Gleaner department of the general gen-eral M. I. A. board. She is well known in literary circles and those who are acquainted with her and her fine work, are looking look-ing forward to hearing ' her this evening in Provo.
