Utah Dh.VLKK which the Honorable Milt Jacques is the mayor have read in the society column of the Provo Herald Her-ald of April 19th, of the proposal made by the said Mayor Jacques to furnish a site for the erection ,of a quarter million dollar post office which the government Is so anxious to' erect for the Pro- j voites. i By way of introduction: We are a representative group of Utah I widows, sod and otherwise, and other charming young women, ! who are banded together for j spiritual, moral, temporal, and ''particularly phjsical uplirt. I We have been special guests at the mansion of the said mayor and vouch for everything he has told you being true and that mayor is a most interesting host. Say. gents, if you can't agree on a .site for the building of a post office that would be a credit to Utah county -and the dictator of this missive was born and reared in that most wonderful spot of all God's creation we suggest I that you convert the 600 acre Jacques estate into a national park: and when you want to get away from the grind of national machinery, sneak away and come west. Mayor Jacques knows how and when to catch suckers and other "poor fish", and could undoubtedly un-doubtedly give you some sug gestions along tnis line - and ; worms to be had here. too. i Now, as to the excursion boat j which Mayor Jacques suggests i might be used as "temporary 1 quarters'"- an officer of the law ' who escorted us women folks on i an inspection tour of the classy 1 house-boat, got soaked in doing I Sm literally soaked, for some one locked the boat, and in rescuing his- wife, he fell intc the river. It' you don't accept Mayor Jacque's magnanimous o f f e r, there ought to be a ... ruing e of politics next year don't lL-ten to dissenting factions, they'll Uke you for a ride, and not in an excursion ex-cursion txat like Mayor Jacques has offered you, either. We are women of few words. and in conclusion we want to I caution you, in all soberness, to I have the post office erected as ; far in the west part of Provo as Utah lake will allow. i ' Believe us to be.
