INDEX BUREAU IS BUSY PLACE Rveryone who has occasion to send temple sheets to the index bureau should become better acquainted ac-quainted with that institution. It is well worth while to pay a visit to the bureau, look over the files which contain millions of names of those for whom temple ordinances ordin-ances have been performed. It is worth yoitfr while to meet the fine people who are in charge of the work there. It is worth your while to listen to their ex- planution of how the work is done. When you see the piles of temple sheets waiting to be checked you will readily understand why the workers at the bureau cannot give special attention to your sheets and go into the piles of sheets and find yours for you in a moment's notice. If you will organize a company from your stake or your ward we are sure the officials at the bureau bu-reau will be glad for you to nake an appointment to be shown through the index bureau. The capacity of the index bureau bu-reau has been more than doubled. It. now has filing capacity for 20 million names, 200,000 pounds of cards. In seven years since Janu ary 1, 1927, the bureau has checked check-ed a total of 5,131,905 names ami has prevented a duplication oi 350,000 endowments. There is a great increase in the volume of names now being handled. About 400,000 to 500,000 endowments are performed each year and approximately approxi-mately three times that many ordinances or-dinances in all. The index bureau is now located in the new quarters of the Genealogical Genea-logical Society of Utah at SO North Main street, Salt Lake City.
