M. Atwood stated today. Mr. Atwood asked county citizens citi-zens to cooperate in the assessment assess-ment in the interests of saving time and money by having their certificates and also pointed out another item that it is well to keep in mind. Due to a change in law and a ruling of the state tax commission the assessors will now attach no personal property to real estate unless the person is the legal owner, own-er, Mr. Atwood stated. In the past it has been tjie policy to attach personal property to the real estate of the legal owner provided pro-vided he gave his consent. Now the persons assessed for personal property that is not attached to real estate will either have to pay the tax or furnish a bond covering the payment. The new ruling protects persons who are, for instance, selling real estate under contract to someone. With his consent, the buyer attaches attach-es his personal property to the real estate, then, in case the buyer defaulted, de-faulted, the man selling the real estate would thus be responsible for taxes not really his. 1 January 6, 1934 SALMON "Black Top" Alaska Pink 2i-n. tall tins aV COFFEE "RED & WHITE" I -Pound 97j Vacuum Tin A V TOILET TISSUE "BLUE & WHITE" 1000 Sheets Fine Tissue I9c Rolls.
