Show A4 Wednesday, December 31, 2008 Vernal Express Betty Tuttle Clinton Killian WWII Air Force pilot Clinton H Killian, 89, passed away at the Uintah Basin Rehabilitation and Sr. Villa on Dec. 23. He was born July 30, 19 19, in Altonah, Utah, to Grant B. and Olive Lora Richens Killian. He attended high school in Roosevelt and played with the State Championship Basketball team, the Roosevelt Rough Riders. Rid-ers. After graduation from high school he enrolled at Utah State Agricultural College in Logan and attended there until 1943 when he was inducted into the Air Force. Clint was a captain and flew as a pilot on B24 and B29 bombers bomb-ers in the famous low-level raid over Ploesti, Romania, to bomb the oil fields there. They flew so low some of the planes returned with corn shucks in their bomb bays. While in the Air Force, Clint married Frances Baird; she passed away in 1959 after they returned to Roosevelt. Clint worked with his dad as a mechanic, owned his own service station and an auto-wTecking business until his retirement. He married Elma Adams on July 8, 1969, and they resided in Roosevelt until her death in 1994. His last few years were Elbert Baese Elbert "Tommy" Samueal Baese, 95, of Vernal passed away Dec. 1 7 peacefully at his home. He was born Feb. 18, 1913 to George and Leona Baese. Originally from Bingham, Utah, he lived in Vernal for 60 years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and Oaka were married in 1936 in Heber City, Utah. They had one son, Karl J. Baese. For the past 40 years he owned and operated the Lazy K Motel together with his wife, Oaka, until she passed away six years ago. He continued running it up until his death. He is survived by his son, Karl J. " . " ' " v Vince Richins Vince Pugmire (Richins), 24, died Dec. 23. He was born Sept. 11, 1984, inMontpelier, Idaho. His parents are Kenneth Ellis and Ruby Mc-Conkie Mc-Conkie Richins. Vince graduated from Uintah High School. He was a cowboy, loved horses, the outdoors, enjoyed country music, loved pickup trucks, semi trucks and cars, and liked to dress them up or as he would say to "trick my truck." He was a truck driver for RNI and was a part owner in the family fam-ily business-Tech Swabbing. Vince loved his country and joined the military to make sure his family was always safe. He just completed and graduated from boot camp. He loved his family and enjoyed doing things for people and lending a helping hand. He had a big heart. Vince is survived by his parents, par-ents, Ruby and Kenneth Richins, of Ballard; grandparents, Delma and Daryl Gibbons, Gusher, and William "Fred" and Pam Richins, Myton; brothers, Terry Bird, Robert Oldson Robert W. "Spike" Oldson, 6S, of Vernal passed away Dec. 24 after a fight with cancer. Born Oct. 22, 1941, to Dan and Edith Oldson in Colorado, he was raised in Roosevelt and graduated gradu-ated from Union High School. He was also in the U. S. Marine Corps. He ret ired from the BLM in Rawlins and was a member of the VFW of Rawlins. Three parcels in the area of 3500 S. and 4000 to 4150 E. were identified in the county's building, planning and zoning department public hearing for the proposed zone. . She is survived by her husband, Bill; two sons, Roger Tuttle of Bountiful, Boun-tiful, and Jim Tuttle of San Diego; two daughters, Christie Tuttle of San Diego, and Donna Gohr of Rangely; a brother, Gene Adkins of Ashland, Ky.; and six grandchildren and their spouses. Preceding her in death are her parents; her sister, Helen Adkins Justice; brothers, Harold, Morris and Larry; and toddler son, William Christopher. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Jan. 3, at the LDS Church in Rangely. Betty's final resting place will be in the family plot in the Ashland Cemetery, Ashland.
