This project will implement two temporary tem-porary trail reroutes and one permanent reroute. The project is designed to stabilize stabi-lize two of thirteen lakes, Brown Duck and Island Lakes, in the Fligh Uintas Wilderness, and help restore hydrologic functioning to the Brown Duck Creek drainage of the Lake Fork River. Also, as part of a contingency plan to cover unforeseen unfore-seen project needs and to accomplish work in one season, a mechanical mechan-ical trail reroute will be developed along the existing trail between Brown Duck and Island Lakes, if needed. The mechanical mechani-cal trail reroute would be implemented if mechanized equipment equip-ment assembly, equipment failure or. unknown dam breach constraints endangers the time constraint to complete the work in one season, upon the approval of the Regional Forester. Further, four to five work crews will camp near the lakes within the Brown Duck Basin during the 90-day work season. Further, Kidney Lake will be used to store water while Brown Duck and Island Lakes are stabilized. Brown Duck, Island and Kidney Lakes are located inT.2N, R.6W, Sec. 5 & 6 of the . West Uintah Special Meridian. The area ranges in elevation from approximately 10,000 to 10,500 feet above mean sea level. This decision is not subject to appeal (36 CFR 215).
