I" ' ' i " ' L O j 0 Vernal Bantams face Grand Junction Junior Mavericks Their first season as a traveling travel-ing hockey team brought Grand Junction Junior Mavericks to the local ice rink for a two-game bout. In game one the Mavericks scored a goal in both the first and second periods with the Raptors working furiously to not only defend their end, but pass for a goal of their own. Nine minutes into the third period, Jarrett Urban came down the ice with a pass from Lars Carlson and scored Vernal's first goal. The game went from intense to tense with a minute and a half to go and the decision was made to pull the goalie on a power play and use six Raptors on four Mavericks to skate for V - . .
