Show V Tuesday, July Obituaries Elaine Fielding Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand Gena Sweatfield Waite Gena Sweatfield Waite, 57, passed away surrounded by family on July, 20 2007 in Salt Lake City. She was born Jan 17, 1950 in Vernal to Collett and Edward A. "Tex" Sweatfield. Gena grew up in Vernal and graduated from Uintah High School. She participated in community theater and dance. She graduated from Ricks College, majoring in dance and drama and participated in many productions. It was there that she met her eternal Bweetheart, Thomas E. Waite. Her family was at her bedside when she passed away. Elaine was born in Orem on Nov. 10, 1923, the third child of Virgil William and Nancy Nellie Burr Bullock. She was raised in Provo, and attended Provo High School, graduating in 1942. She married her sweetheart, Keith Fielding, June 19, 1946, in the Salt Lake IDS Temple. As a married couple they lived in Provo, where their first child was born. They then moved to Vernal, where they lived for nine years and added two children. Next they moved to Fresno, Calif, where their last child was born. Nearly 25 years later, they returned to Orem to care for their aging parents and to "come home." Elaine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many leadership positions. Her favorite 1970. Their marriage wasblessed with six children who were the lights of her life along, with her nine grandchildren She was multi-talented in cooking, florals, sewing, decorating, scrapbookintg and her latest passion, jewelry making. Her friends and family have many of her creations, with which to treasure her memory. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Thomas Waite, Stansbury Park; children: Brecca (Jared) Meyer, Salt Lake City; Amanda Waite (Mett) Soper, Dallas, Texas; Emeral (Aaron) Jar sen, Ririe, Idaho; Amber (Lee) Gardner, West Jordan; and Stirling Waite, ,Salt Lake City; grandchildren, Jaythen, Travor, McKell and Brielle Larsen, Quentin and Aspen Waite, Ashlyn Everett and Miles Gardner; mother, Beth Sweatfield and Vernal siblings Alan Sweatfield (Linda), Sandy: Colette (Scott) Hymas, South Jordon; Megan (Brent) Fredrickson, West Valley City; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She has been reunited with her infant daughter Nicole, her father Tex, and wonderful grandparents. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday July 27 in the Stansbury South Stake Center in Stansbury Park, Utah. Graveside servcies will be at 5:00 p.m. in the Vernal Cemetary on July 27. She is loved greatly and will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. She is survived by her husband hus-band of 61 years; four children, Barbara Thompson, Orem; Russell Rus-sell Keith Fielding, Clovis, Calif.; Patricia (David) John, Vernal; and Marilee (Robert) .Davis, Fountain Green; 15 grandchildren; grandchil-dren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gale Bullock, Orem; and Richard Bullock, Sandy; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents; two brothers, broth-ers, Grant Bullock and Montell Bullock; and only sister, Renee Gappmayer. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 25, 11 a.m., at the Lakeview 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 1750 S. 400 W, Orem. A viewing was Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 S. State Street, Orem, and will also be one hour prior to the funeral services. Bob Bennett, R-Utah, recently joined his Senate Appropriations Ap-propriations Committee colleagues col-leagues to extend a disaster relief program that assists livestock producers who have suffered losses from natural disasters, including the horrific fires that burned through Utah this summer, sum-mer, through the end of this year "The entire United States has experienced devastating natural disasters over the past year, and the wildfires that have burned over 400,000 acres of land in Utah are certainly among the worst," said Bennett, the ranking rank-ing Republican member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee Subcom-mittee on Agriculture, which has jurisdiction over the Farm Service Agency that administers the Livestock Compensation Program (LCP). "Today marked the first step toward providing our ranchers with the help they need to compensate for the loss of feed. I will do all I can to see that this provision is signed into Uaving a baby Medical Center is a ?0 law as soon as possible." The provision extending the LCP from Feb. 28, to Dec. 3 1, was accepted during a Senate Appropriations Appro-priations Committee mark up on the FY 2008 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill. LCP currently only compensates compen-sates livestock producers for feed losses resulting from natural disasters that occurred between Jan.l, 2005, and Feb. 28, 2007. Compensation is paid out based on the number livestock - per head amount will be determined at a later date - and cannot exceed ex-ceed $80,000 per producer. Oncethebillissignedintolaw, livestock producers in primary or contiguous counties declared secretarial disaster areas or counties declared presidential disaster areas who suffered losses after Feb. 28 may be eligible eli-gible for relief and may receive a maximum of $80,000 in LCP benefits.
