Show D4 Wednesday, June 22, 2005 II " 1 ' Ashley Evans and Evans and McKeachnie to wed June 25 in Maeser Ashley Evans and Tyler McKeachnie have chosen to be married Saturday, June 25 in Maeser at the Troy Meier Residence, 2221 North 3250 West. A reception will be held that evening at 2221 North 3250 West from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The bride is the daughter of Steve Evans and SueAnn and Gregg Burraston of Vernal. She graduated from Uintah High School in 2002. She gradu Merkleys celebrate 50th Dean and Ann Merkley are celebrating 50 golden years of marriage. They met and fell in love just after he returned home from his tour of duty in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. They loved to dance and hardly missed an event at the old Imperial Hall with the spring-loaded dance floor. Dean and Ann enjoyed hunting hunt-ing and fishing together and working with their honey bees. Dean enjoys gardening and creating cre-ating and crafting with wood. 1 Annrf enjoys oil painting and t y growing flowers. T Dean worked in the oil field as a derrick hand and as a driller drill-er for Mountain States Drilling for a number of years. He worked with his brothers for Merkley Brothers Construction for many years and became a licensed general contractor. Ann worked at the five and dime Ben Franklin store for several years along with her years at Mountain Bell Telephone, Uintah State Bank, Basin Loans and for the state of Utah. Cool down with a Rocket Pop With the warm days finally here its a perfect time to cool down with a colorful Rocket Pop. Ingredients: 1 12 c. cherry fruit juice drink, or other red fruit juice. 1 12 c. lemonade 1 12 c. blue sports drink such as Gatorade or Powerade. 123 inch lengths red licorice lico-rice lace 'fuses' and 12 wooden lollipop sticks Directioni; Put twelve 3-oz disposable plastic or paper cups in a muffin muf-fin pan or pan with sides. For each 'rocket' spoon 2 tbsp. red drink into each cup. Freeze for 4 hours, or until firm. Add 2 tbsp. lemonade and freeze for 4 hours. Freeze 1 to 2 hours until firm-slushy. Insert a wooden stick and a licorice 'fuse' into blue layer of each cup. Freeze for 2 to 3 hours until hard.
