There were 14,000 DECA students stu-dents at the competition representing represent-ing every state, Canada, Guam and other countries. To qualify for the competition, students had to place first, second or third on the state level. There were 1 SO delegates from Utah at the international inter-national competition, including 16 from Uintah High School. Ashley Valley Medical Center and life Point Hospitals, Inc., announce die appointment of Si Hutt as the new chief executive officer. Mr. Hutt will be replacing Ron Perry, who announced his retirement from AVMC, in March of mis year. Mr. Hutt comes to Vernal from Ogdea Regional Medical Center where he is currently serving as associate administrator. He is a 1991 graduate of the University of Utah, and received a Master of Health Services Administration degree in 1994 from Arizona State University. Mr. Hutt was chosen after an extensive search and interview process. The interview was conducted con-ducted by a committee consisting of local residents, physicians, and hospital personnel. Mr. Hutt was offered the job on the recommendation recommenda-tion of this committee. "We were impressed with Mr. Hutt," stated Dr. Jack Seitz, member of the interview inter-view committee. "He has the experience expe-rience and the desire that make him an excellent choice for CEO. We look forward to working with him." Mr. Hutt. his wife K.C, and their four children, Tessa. Eli, Adam and Liza, will be relocating to Vernal this summer. "My ife and I are very impressed with the people we have met and the natural beauty of the area. We look forward to bringing bring-ing our family to Vernal and being involved in the community," stated Mr. Hurt "I want to work closely with the physicians, staff, and community com-munity to ensure that the hospital has the medical services and facilities facili-ties that the area needs." Mr. Hutt will begin working at the hospital on May 14.
