The bride is the daughter of Mike and Ann Stewart of Vernal. She is a 1996 graduate of Uintah High School and a 1998 graduate of Von Curtis Academy. She is currently employed at Impulse Salon. The groom is the son of Michael and Kathy Laris. He is a 1996 graduate grad-uate of Uintah High School. He served a two-year LDS mission in Puebla, Mexico. Laris is currently employed with Ponderosa Oilfield and with security at the Vernal Temple. A reception will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the AshleyMaeser chapel located at 2575 N. 1500 W. on Saturday July 10. TV' IT 7 v Dea Ann Madsen and Curg C Murray will be married at 9:30 in the morning, July 9 at the Vernal LDS Temple. The bride is the daughter of Dr. Ace and Zoe Madsen of Vernal. She is a 1995 graduate of Uintah High School and a 1999 graduate of Brigham Young University with a human biology major and a minor in chemistry. She is currently employed em-ployed at Red Canyon Lodge. The groom is the son of Joe B. and Judy Murray. He is a 1994 graduate of Uintah High School and earned an associates degree at Weber State University. He is currently cur-rently employed at Intermountain Concrete. A garden reception will be held in their honor at the Madsen residence, resi-dence, 1797 E Highway 40, July 9 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The couple plans to make their home in Salt Lake City where they will attend the University of Utah in the fall. Nathan Christiansen and Sara Roberts Roberts and Christiansen to be wed in Manti LDS Temple Jessica Nicholas and Bryan Bell Sara Roberts and Nathan Christiansen will be married at the Manti LDS Temple on July 16. The bride is the daughter of Frank and Gail Roberts of Nashville, Tenn. She is a 1996 graduate of Ml Juliet High School and attended Brigham Young University. She is currently employed by the Foundation for Ancient Research and Mormon Studies (FARMS). The groom is the son of W. John and O. June Christiansen formerly of Vernal now Kaysville. He is a 1992 graduate of Uintah High School, is a 1996 Snow College graduate and is currently attending BYU. He is currently with the Utah National Guard. A reception will be held in their honor at the Glines Chapel. 1270 W. 1500 S. on Saturday. July 17 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The couple plans to make their home in Provo. Nicholas and Bell marry in Vernal LDS Temple Jessica Nicholas and Bryan Bell were married in the Vernal Temple on June 11. The bride is the daughter of Grand and Wanda Nicholas of Lander, Wryo. She graduated from Lander High School and is attending attend-ing Brigham Young University. The groom is the son of Rick and Jennifer Bell of Vernal. He graduated graduat-ed from Uintah High and fulfilled a two-year mission to Tucson, Ariz. He is also attending Brigham Young University. The couple plans to continue their schooling .while living in Spanish Fork. A reception will be held on July 10 in Lander Wyo., in the Monarch Room of the Pronghorn Hotel from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Historic Society reschedules Massey's presentation Uintah County Historical Society has rescheduled Anna Massey to give a program about her great-grandmother, great-grandmother, Anna. Hopkins Vincent, born in 1840 in Michigan. Vincent came to Utah in 1863 . She lived to be 102 years old, and passed away in 1942. Vera Murray and Lucky Wall Murray and Wall marry in garden ceremony Vera Lyn Murray and Lucky D. Wall were married June 30 at a garden gar-den ceremony held at the home of the bride's parents. The bride is the daughter of George Orland and Vera Murray of Vernal. She is currently a senior at Uintah High School. The groom is the son of Scott D. and Kristy A. Wall of Jensen. He is a 1999 graduate of Uintah High School and is currently employed at Rustic Valley in Vernal. A reception will be held in their honor July 10 at the American Legion Hall in Jensen from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The couple plans to make their home in Jensen. Haslem family reunion held Leah and Verl Haslem attended the funeral of Leland Peterson last Thursday, June 24. The burial was in Neola on Friday. A large group of friends and relatives attended the funeral and were served lunch on Friday at the Haslem cabin in Duncan Park. The John H. Haslem reunion was held Friday evening and Saturday. June 25 and 26 at Duncan Park with 100 relatives present mostly from the Utah and California areas. Clay, Don and Edna Simmons drove back to Portland, Ore., last week to pick up their motor home that was being fixed. A new motor was installed and the Simmonses made it home Friday with no problems. prob-lems. Norman Symonds picked up three of his grandsons last Monday from Bountiful, Jeremiah, 14, Hank. 10 and Simon, 7. and brought them home to Whiterocks. They all stayed for the July 4 holiday when their mother Patricia Hansen came to pick them up. Zella Pike, with her daughter Sandy, drove to Price Sunday. June 27, to attend the farewell of Zella's niece and her husband Dave and Bonnie Campbell, who are leaving Wednesday, June 30, for the Brazilian mission, David is the president of the Brazil Mission. The return home for Zella and Sandy was not all pleasant or w hat they had expected. About 3 p.m., a fire had started in Whiterocks and Zella immediately called her son. Cliff, who warned that her house was in danger. Cliff and Connie Pike spent the afternoon and evening with Zella until the fireman told them about 10:30 p.m. they could return to their home.
