A total of 24 young men and ladies of various ages competed compet-ed for prices and the chance to go on to the State Farm Bureau Talent Find. Competitions were divided into four divisions. Beginning division was open to ages up to and including includ-ing six years. Adam Graham took first place with his vocal talent, and took home a trophy. Ashley Graham took second place with a vocal performance. Hillary Murray placed third with a vocal performance. perfor-mance. The 200 plus relatives were from Arizona, Vernal, Roosevelt, Whiterocks, Neola, Salt Lake City, Oretn and Spanish Fork.. Homemade items were raffled off. There was a program Friday with singing, dancing and skits. Saturday's breakfast was under the direction of the reunion committee. The Loren Pike family will plan next year's reunion. G.R. and Erma Courtwright drove to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where they met their son, Darryl, with his two children, Michael and Megan. News from Manila by Clara Robinson 7843463 Bookmobile visits Aug. 9 Aug. 9 will be the next visit of the Utah State Library Bookmobile to Daggett County. It will be at the 3 M Market from 9 a.m. undl ll a.m. It will then go to Dutch John and stop at the Flaming Gorge Elementary School and be there from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. From there, it will go the the Flaming Gorge Lodge at 4:30 p.m. and be there until 5:30 p.m. When school starts the Bookmobile will be going to the Manila Elementary School and Manila High School. Technology in the Manila schools has been upgraded this summer. The district office has access to E-mail E-mail and other internet services. The district has also purchased new computers. Pat Asbill has installed two-way video from the three Manila buildings. Now videos can be seen in all three buildings. Local residents, who have cable, can also view these programs. 'Centennial Video Cinema' at Fair The Utah Humanities Council presents Roberta Windchief-Ridley who will speak on the traditional dances of the Assiniboine people. Traditionally, the important events in the lives of the Assiniboine involve in-volve signing and dancing. Ridley, who works in community health for Indian Health Services in Ft Duchesne, will present a look into the meanings of various dances, and the ways in which these traditions tradi-tions tie historical Plains Indian culture to contemporary Native American life.
