She graduated in practical nursing Progressive Arts Members of the Progressive Arts club met at the home of Marita Batty on May 15 for their closing social. The club participated in a Utah Statehood Centennial theme. The members dressed in pioneer attire at-tire and were served a luncheon, much like what was served in that era. All members told of events that took place a hundred years ago in the state, the Vernal area or of their own progenitors. Vadrus Wall, president of the club, installed the new officers for 1996-97. They are: Lois Erickson, president; Cleone Merkley, vice-president; vice-president; Helen Millecam, secretary; secre-tary; Marilyn Merrell, historian-reporter. A token of appreciation was given to the out-going officers.
