The couple will be married at the home of the groom, 201 West 4000 South, on Friday, Aug. 23 at 6 p.m. Teresa is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Snow of Jensen and S ' I jam. 3t- ' 1 1 -,- - iiim mmmmmmmmnmmmtiJ 4 t ' 1 Mr. and Mrs. Harry Tomlinson Tomlinsons to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary Harry and Fontella Tomlinson will be celebrating their 50th wedding wed-ding anniversary on Aug. 24. Their children, Brownie and Wendy Tomlinson, Charlotte and Gib Kynaston, Jerry and Marie Tomlinson and Brad Tomlinson are hosting and open house to honor the event. The open house will be on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Roosevelt Second and Seventh Ward Chapel, 250 West 200 North in Roosevelt beginning at 6 p.m. A program will start at 7:30 p.m. Harry and Fontella were married on Aug. 24, 1941 in Vernal. They owned a ranch on Willow Creek in the Book Cliffs area for 23 years. In 1964 they sold the ranch and moved to a smaller ranch in the Montwell area where they still reside. Chivers is employed as a maintenance mainte-nance mechanic at Chevron Chemical, Vernal Phosphate Operations and is also the owner of Dr. Doo Doo Diaper Service in Vernal. The new family plan to reside re-side in Vernal. Palmer and Powley to marry in Provo Temple Maralee Palmer will become the bride of William H. Powley on Friday, Aug. 23 at the Provo LDS Temple. An open house will be at the Powley residence in Provo the evening of the wedding. A reception recep-tion to honor the couple will be on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Bea Bennion residence, 867 West 300 North from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Rada and Keating marry in Washington James and Barbara Schaeffer together to-gether with Merl and Gloria Rada are pleased to announce the marriage mar-riage of their daughter, Jill Rada to Casey Keating of Seattle, Wash. . The. couple exchanged vows on , Saturday, Aug. 17 in an outdoor ceremony in Snoqualmie Falls, Wash, with immediate family as witnesses. After a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple will reside in Seattle where Casey is employed as program director di-rector at KPLZ Radio. Maralee is the daughter of Mr. and. Mrs. Francis A. Palmer of Vernal and William is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Harrison Powley of Provo. The bride-elect is a graduate of Uintah High School and is a senior attending school at BYU. She fulfilled ful-filled a Spanish speaking LDS mission mis-sion in Fresno, Calif. The groom graduated from Provo High School and is also a senior attending BYU. He served an LDS mission in the Frankfurt and Dresden Germany missions. The couple are both employed at the Missionary Training Center in Provo. The couple plan to live in Provo following their wedding and continue contin-ue their education at BYU. Newborns Aug. 4, 1991 twins were born to Ricardo Sanchez and Laura Decker. The girl weighed 4 lb. 15 oz. and will be named Sara Rose. The boy weighed 3 lb. 9 oz. and will be named Ricardo Shane. Aug. 11, 1991 a boy was born to Randel M. and Cherie' Anderson Sessions. He weighed 7 lb. 7 oz. and will be named Samuel Briggs Randel Sessions. Aug. 13, 1991 a boy was born to Rod and Audra Hilkey. He weighed 8 lb. 14 12 oz. and will be named Seth Kent Hilkey. Aug. 19, 1991 a boy was born to David M. and Sharon B. Gifford. He weighed 6 lb. 12 12 oz. and will be named Devin Jennings Gifford. Aug. 19, 1991 a boy was born to Lorin and Carolyn Squires. They were married in Salt Lake City on Aug. 23, 1941. An open house will be on Saturday, Aug. 24 from S p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Naples City Park pavil ion. They are the parents of four children: chil-dren: Gary, Burlington, Wash.; Mrs. Robert (Joan) Janes, Vernal; Mrs. Larry (Vivian) Colobella. and Mrs. Richard (Janice) Nylund, both of Leeds. They have 15 grandchildren, one step-grandchild and six greatgrandchildren. Golden Age Center Activities Seniors plan trip to Utah State Fair by Ada Murray A trip too the Utah State Fair in Salt Lake City is being planned for Sept. 9 and 10. The cost will be $32.00, double occupancy, and includes in-cludes the fair ticket and motel entertainment. en-tertainment. Reservations can be made by signing up at the Golden Age Center. Entertaining during dinner last Monday was the Ashley Creakers with Dan Voyles on the bass guitar. On Thursday, Aug. 22 the seniors will be touring the Chevron Chemical's Vernal Phosphate plant and then travel to Iron Springs for a picnic. The vans will leave the Golden Age Center at 10 a.m. Verlie and Mac McCarrel furnished fur-nished refreshments for the 54 people peo-ple who attended the weekly dance on Friday night. The McCarrels were celebrating their wedding anniversary. an-niversary. Berta Slaugh came away from bingo last week winning five games. Lorna Holmes, Doris Bodily and Anita O'Driscoll tied for second with three games each. Flaming Gorge volunteers honored at picnic The Flaming Gorge Natural History Association had its annual picnic on Saturday, Aug. 10 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Pat Baker in Minnie's Gap, Wyo. Approximately 85 members attended. There were about 45 volunteers working in the National Recreation District performing projects such as patrolling the reservoir, manning the visitor's center, hosting the campgrounds, patrolling for forest fires and doing some maintenance work. The whole meal for the picnic was prepared in dutch ovens by relatives of the hosts.
