Joe Honeycutt then singled to move Firth to third, and moved to second when Huber was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Beau Spendlove then worked the pitcher Jensen for a walk to score Firth. Bart Hardman then cleared the bases scoring Honeycutt and Huber with a line shot to center which bounded off the top of the fence just inches from being out of the park. Hardman ended up with a double and Spendlove was at third base when the inning ended. Hillcrest then came back from the temporary 3-2 deficit with a vengeance as they scored seven runs while batting 12. An error on second sec-ond base let the lead runner on base to open the inning. Six hits and three walks later Hilcrest had erased the one run Vernal lead and took a commanding 9-3 lead. Reeves doubled, dou-bled, Jensen walked, Rhinehard singled, sin-gled, Keetch singled, Ruttenbeer singled. Snow walked, Christensen singled, and Greene singled during the barrage. Hillcrest came back with a duplicate dupli-cate of their second inning as they quickly scored seven to go up 164. Four hits and four walks brought 12 men to plate and seven scored. Richfield 14, Orem CE 8 In Game two, Orcm Central-East who advanced from the Roosevelt district tournament was pillid against Richfield who advanced from the Gunnison qualifier. This one was two games in one as Richfield getting great pitching from Christensen and solid bailing led by the right fielder Bl.ick.bum posted and early 9-2 lead. Vernal Blue 16 Emery 4 After a shaky start which saw the first four Emery bailers walk to load the bases. Matt Masscy came on in relief for Vernal Blue and closed out what started out to be a big first inning in-ning for the Castle Country nine, allowing al-lowing only one hit and retiring three of the next four batters to close the lop half of the first allowing allow-ing only three runs. Hillcrest Union, Orcm Northwest v. Richfield, Vernal Red v. Emery, and Richfield v. Orcm Southeast A champion will be crowned on Saturday with the winner advancing to the Pacific Southeast Regional on July 28th against teams from Guam, California, Montana, Washington, Oregon.
