This year the theme was "The Seventy-fifth Birthday of Boy Scouts". This theme was carried out in the table decorations with blue and gold birthday cakes made of plaster of paris. Three Webelos boys were presented awards in craftsmanship. They were Jesse Campbell, Daniel Olson, and Jed Dixon. Dix-on. The Webelos leader Is Dave Hughes. A film was shown "Wildlife and the Land". The film was obtain ed from the Fish and Game Commission Commis-sion In Green River, Wyo. All 13 of the Cub Scouts and their parents were In attendance as well as guests including the Bishopric, the Primary Presidency, and Scout Master Rick Ellsworth. Andrea Hughes is the Den Mother and Jim Olson is the Cub Master. The leaders were very pleased with the success of the evening thanks to the donations find support given by parents. and Raynette Schell and Dean Cook. Students were Starla Despain, Ron Andrews, An-drews, Eric Unck, Lennie Cook, Todd Smith, Melanie Wilde, Heidi Steinaker, Charmaine Hughes, and Ronda Slaugh. These young people had so much fun they are planning a trip to the Sun Dance Resort near Provo. Manila Junior High School students participated in the State Math Counts sponsored by the Salt Lake Chapter of Utah Professional Engineers just last month. Of the 19 schools competing, Manila's team placed 9th. No small school scored better. The other 8 placing plac-ing higher were all from SLC. David Briggs placed 14 out of 84 students. This was the highest scorer of any student stu-dent from a small school. Those on the Manila team were David Briggs, Marty Mar-ty Ashmore, Troy Skabelund, Necl Colton and Paul Keddy. Manila had the best snow it has had since last September this weekend. Sunday 7 inches of snow fell with Zl of an inch of moisture. The highest temperature wss 48' March 2. but this cooled to 35 Sunday during the storm. The lowest temperature was on the night of March 2 after the storm when it dropped to 6 above tero.
