Denning flipped flip-ped in six of the eight points for the Thunderbirds on two field goals and two free throws and Andrus popped in one field goal. Uintah improved in the scoring department in the second quarter as they struck for ten counters, but Timpview Timp-view poured in 13 points for a 37 to 14 advantage over the Utes. The Thunderbirds blasted the hoop with four points on two field goals for a 28-4 lead and then Tia Liebhardt popped in a shot for the Utes at the 7:16 mark. Timpview poured in five straight points on three points by Thomas on a free throw and field goal and two counters by Williams on a field goal. The Utes went on a scoring eruption of their own as they scored six of the next seven points on two-pointers by Cindy Anderson, Drollinger and Liebhardt to slice the Thunderbird lead to 12 points at 34-12. Thomas fired in a field goal for Timpview, but the Utes cut the T-bird lead to 12 once again on two free throws by Sherry Lefthand. Neves fired in one free throw for Timpview to make the score after two quarters, Timpview, 37 and Uintah, 14. The Thunderbirds thundered to the hoop with 13 straight points for a 50 to ireg)Diro 14 lead before the Uintah Utes could score their first points of the second half on a field goal by Liebhardt with 4:07 to go in the third quarter. Mathie scored the first points of the quarter on a two-pointer and then Denning Den-ning scored five straight points on three free throws and a field goal for a 44-14 Timpview lead. Raisor popped in a shot and then Gardner stole the ball and passed it to Mathie, who fired in a two-pointer. Andrus struck for two to give her team a 50-14 advantage. Liebhardt's field goal cut Timpview's Timp-view's lead to 34 points, but the Thunderbirds roared to the hoop for eight straight points on two field goals by Andrus, two-pointer by Mathie and two free throws by Denning to increase in-crease their advantage to 42 points at 58-16. The Utes stopped the Timpview scoring parade and scored three points of their own on a field' goal by Liebhardt and a free throw by Ander-. son. Timpview regained a 42 point lead of 61-19 on a field goal by Raisor and free throw by Gardner. Timpview dried up in the point gaining gain-ing world in the fourth quarter as they scored only seven points but the Utes also had problems finding the basket as they scored just six points.
