Show MINERETTE CLUB NEWS February Tea The home of Mary Kampros was the setting for a very lovely tea held February 12. Mary was chairman of the affair and Jackie Dahlstrom, JoAnn Murano, Jo-Ann Jo-Ann Anderson, Kay Beekstead, and Joan Downs composed the committee. Theme for the tea was based around Abraham Lincoln. The centerpiece was a decorated red, white and blue stand with the Emancipation Proclamation on it. On either side were white candles cand-les with red, white and blue ribbon rib-bon encircling them. Mrs. Vam Burnham was guest speaker who came to us from the Richard Stephen's School of Charm in Salt Lake City. She gave a lovely talk on charm and self-improvement. JoAnn Murano Mur-ano played a number on her saxophone; sax-ophone; Sharlene Foster sang a medley of patriotic songs, and Bobbie Lee Johnson gave a reading read-ing about Abraham Lincoln. Delicious refreshments were served ser-ved and a good time had by all. Drill "Doing The Town" was the theme for the drill that was presented pre-sented at halftime of the Bingham Bing-ham vs. Grantsville game. Little Pauline Slotte and Jimmy Jim-my Moss was the main feature; as they played the role of a courting couple in the gay nineties nine-ties that were going to spend an adventurous day in the big city. They took a walk in Central Park, had a pink soda at the corner drug store, took a thrilling thrill-ing ride on the Ferris wheel, and finished up by jogging home in a hired automobile. Each of the formations were made by the Minerettes. The music was furnished by members mem-bers of the Senior High Band; with Janice Armitstead and Don Wright keeping the drill moving by their drum beats. Verses were written by Mrs. Beatrice Bates and was narrated vtry well by Harold Chesler. Thi? drill was cojnposed by Minevette girls with Ellen Beth Thomas as the director. Joan Arritola |
