Show C-4 Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues, January 14-17, 2012 The Park Record Continued From C-1 Theater needs to go digital hand thread them and start the movie," she said. "Halfway through the movie, we start the second projector and begin playing the second part of the film and rewind the first part." "It's pretty old-school and kind of fun and nostalgic, but if we want to show new movies, we have to up the technology," Kevin said. The Harris' have brainstormed ways to raise the money and even thought about becoming a nonprofit organization. "We looked at becoming a nonprofit, but every theater we've looked at that has done that had to quit showing studio films and go into an artsy direction," Sharee said. "We don't want to do that because JUST CALL JOEL for all your real estate needs Exclusive representative for ‘The Associated Realty of the Americas' www.areamericas.com JOEL FINE 435.901.2171 joel@FineProperty.com JustCall-Joel.com I don't see art films doing super well here." The Harris' believe the Kamas Theater still has the potential to benefit the community. It is currently showing free children's movies and had held a special screening of "A Dolphin's Tale" to a group of young heart-transplant patients from Primary Children's Hospital last fall. "That was just amazing," Sharee said about the screening. "It was great to provide them with something they would not have been able to do otherwise. I think it would be great to expand on that." The Harris' just installed a heated dance floor and they have looked into hosting some weekend dances, or holding community-theatre productions. "The studios don't like it when we do that because they lose money," Sharee said. Meanwhile, during Sundance, the Kamas Theater will show "War Horse," Kevin said. "There have been a lot of requests for that movie," he said. "Especially out here, people are interested in horses, and we're hoping that will be a good movie, but it's not Sundance.
