An 18-year-resident of Park City, Jean had moved in the last year of her life with her husband, Vic, to be a couple in the warm snowfree weather of Southern Utah. Jean's illness was cancer, which was discovered on February 12, so in true Method fashion she wasted no time in getting ready for the next phase of life. Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, following her birth on July 24,1930, the third of five children of Anne and John Diersen, Jean attended and was a member of the class of 1948 of the Notre Dame Academy- She is survived by her brothers, Norbert of Harbor Springs, Mich., John of Independence Ohio, and Alan of Cleveland, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her sister Lillian and her parents. Working in the automobile industry in Cleveland, she was set up on a date with "Victor Method" by a coworker. When someone commented to her that she was going on a date with Anson Method (her future husband was known primarily as Anson among his family and friends), she didn't know who that was. Once the name confusion was resolved, a superb romance and courtship ensued. Their marriage on September 8, 1956, provided fifty-four and a half lovely years together as a wonderful couple living in Cleveland, Dayton, Rockford and Muskegon, Mich-, and Kansas City before coming west. Jean and Vic moved to Park City in 1992 to help with day care and to experience a state that celebrated her July 24th birthday as a state holiday! She was very active in the St. Mary's parish, serving on the parish council and spearheading the annual St. Mary's Christmas ornament sales. She also was a soccer mom and grandmother before the term became popular. Jean's children include: her daughter Polly of Tucson, Arizona, with her husband Eric, who provided the in-home hospice care in Santa Clara, and her grandchildren Chrissy, Jessie and Danny; her son Doug with wife Linda who lives in Kansas City; and her son Vic with wife Denise and grandchildren Greg and Andrew of Park City. Known for love of life (including an 18-year-membership in the esteemed group of Silver Springs Bunco players, a group comprised of some very special women in Park City), of sports with golf and the Jazz, of cooking with world-class apple pies and of children and one of the all-time-great smiles, Jean reflected in the last few days that hers truly has been a wonderful life: full of friendships, experiences and love of family and her husband.
