I citynews@parkrecord.com Crossbow carrier seen Police receive complaints from Rising Star Lane By JAY HAMBURGER Of the Record staff The Park City Police Department in the last week of November received another series of reports about people using terrain inside the city as hunting grounds, a practice that is prohibited. The police in the fall have regularly been told of hunters being spotted, typically on the edges of Park City. The cases in iate November included: • On Saturday, Nov. 27 at 4:02 p.m. someone called from Rising Star Lane, where a red pickup truck was seen with at least one man inside. The police were told hunters might have driven the truck to the site. The person who called the police said someone from the truck might be using a crossbow to hunt. • Earlier on Nov. 27, at 2:52 p.m., someone had called the police from Rising Star Lane as well. The person said they saw a man wearing dark-colored clothing and carrying a crossbow. Someone driving a white pickup truck dropped the man off, the police were told. • Also on Nov. 27, at 9:43 a.m., a complaint was called in from Oak Wood Court, a street that is close to Rising Star Lane. The person told the police several large deer were seen close to the house. A hunter carrying a bow was also spotted close to the house, the person told the police. The person was concerned the man with the bow might be hunting too close to the house, according to police logs. In another call to the police, on Friday, Nov. 26 at 4:54 p.m., someone complained about two cars parked in the area of Rising Star Lane. The person told the police hunters might have parked the cars. Rising Star Lane is a sparsely populated street on the edge of the Solamere neighborhood. Oak Wood Court is located close to Rising Star Lane. The area is situated amid acres of mountainous terrain, and wildlife is frequently seen in that part of Park City. In early December, at 9:39 a.m. on Dec. 3, a police officer on patrol on Rising Star Lane told dispatchers no hunters were seen at that time. The report is an indication of the police continuing their efforts to discourage hunting inside the city. Hunting of any type is barred within the Park City limits, but hunters are drawn to animals like deer and elk that inhabit the area. Firing a weapon, regardless of type, is also barred inside the city. The police since November have also received complaints about hunters from people in places like April Mountain, Park Meadows and Round Valley. Carbon monoxide reported monoxide detector sounded at 2:18 p.m. on the 1000 block of Park Avenue. • On Nov. 29, a detector warned people on the 400 block of Marsac Avenue about the presence of carbon monoxide. If you have discolored teeth, or a misaligned bite, these defects can combine to make you look and feel older than your years! Everyday middleaged people look in the mirror and say to themselves "my teeth have gotten yellow" this yellowing is a normal aging process. But it doesn't have to be the end result. There are many dental procedures out there that can take years off your appearance and some are more costly than others. A youthful smile typically involves whitening of the teeth, placing porcelain veneers or crowns over Park City fi- Dental|W>a existing teeth. There is a limit to how much dental work you can do and I do caution against changing a good bite just for cosmetics. Remember, some of these procedures are irreversible. Well - done veneers can lastfifteenyears or more, but they can break, chip and may need to be replaced in a decade. Using teeth whitening products combined with proper dental care, will result in a wonderful smile. This procedure will result in a more youthful appearance, A whiter smile can take years off your age and is much less expensive than a face lift!
