The first ever "Running with Ed" race is a 43-mile relay race that loops around ail seven local schools. Everyone can join, from novice joggers to competitive athletes. All proceeds will go toward supporting the library. Randall Lake Exhibition at Gallery MAR Gallery MAR presents new works by Utah artist Randall Lake and an artist reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Lake lives his life with a turn-of-the-century mentality, having an appreciation for manners, letter writing, antiques, and fine art. In 2004, after a personal crisis, Randall took a two-year hiatus from his art. He moved back to his family home in southern California and vowed he wouldn't paint again until he had a new heart and a new mind. This gave him valuable time to reflect on his art and career. When he returned to Utah and his brushes, he had changed and is now embarking on a new frontier. Desert Rocks Music Festival Each year during Memonal Day weekend, the Desert Rocks Music Festival is held at the majestic BFE Ranch, located 10 miles south of Moab. This year's festival will feature three stages of world-dass bluegrass, rock ' n ' roll, reggae, hiphop, funk, and folk music. The music is complemented by engaging local entertainment ranging from fire dancing t o aerial trapeze ballet Performances and events begin each afternoon and continue until sunrise. Desert Rocks is a family-friendly festival, and children under 12 are free. The People's Health clinic is seeking volunteers for its "Stones to Grow On" Waiting Room Literacy Program. "Planting in the Park Gty Area: Types and Tips" The Wildlife Protection Society will present the second seminar in its wildlife education series on June 3 at 6:30 p.m. in Room 109 at the Park City Library. Ann Barrett from the Park City Nursery will discuss planting in the Park City area. Learn about plants that thrive in a mountain environment and get tips for solving landscape problems. Barrett is the author of "High Altitude Planting: A Practical Guide to Landscaping, Gardening and Planting Above 6,000 Feet." Adopt-A-Native Elder meeting The Adopt-A-Native Elder Program will hold a public meeting on Thursday, June 17, at 5:30 p.m. at the Park City'Community Church. Join the local nonprofit to help plan for the Navajo Rug Show and Sale that will be held November 12-14. Food will be provided. Spring bus service Park City Transit's summer service runs from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Service to Silver Lake will be suspended until mid-June. Prospector Express and The Canyons route will be suspended until mid-November. The Kimball Junction route serves as a connection to The Canyons transit hub with 30-minute frequency.
