Sheldrake has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, and aerospace maintenance training at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. Sheldrake is stationed at Offutt Strategic Air Command Base in Omaha, Neb. in the 38th Reconnaissance Squadron where he is continuing his training as a crew chief while attending community college through the Air Force to complete his degree in aeronautical forensics. Sheldrake is the son of Stephen Brent Sheldrake and Julianna Sheldrake of Park City. He attended Park City High from Alta High School in 2002. School and played both football Brent worked for Burt Brothers and baseball for Park City for Tires as an apprentice mechanic three years prior to graduating prior to enlisting in the Air Force. He was also the son of local polygamisl George C. Snyder. Like his fuller, he married multiple times, but he v. as not a polygamist. Wilson was born near Salt Lake Cil\ in IS56. In 1877, after studying l^w for a few years, he married CjA'Mhia Brown, the daughter of Bishop .John Brown. Bishop Brown was a prominent Utah pioneer, arriving with Brigham Young's party in 1X47. Brown and Orson Pratt were the first of the expedition to lay eyes (Mi the Sail Lake Valley. Wilson and Cynthia had two children together, but only their daughter Cora survived them. Cynthia passed away in 1881. Wilson was soon married again, weddine Elizabeth Wells Arrick of Sheffield. England in 18S7. Wilson and Elizabeth were both very active and prominent members of the Christian Science Church. This marriage was the longest-lasting of the three, but it produced no children. Elizabeth died in 1921, leaving Wilson a widower r the second lime. Wilson married again in 1923, this t(mc choosing a bride from Park City. I-|is wile was Hannah LeCompte, the daughter of pioneer physician, army surgeon, and Indian fighter Dr. E.P. LeCompte. He built a home on Main Street (see inset) that remains to this day across from the Claimjumper. Snyder was by this time 67 years old, but he and his new wife went on an adventurous honeymoon. The couple traveled by ship to Hawaii, and on the way encountered a very serious storm. Hannah related the story of this harrowing journey to her father upon her safe arrival in WedThurs/Fri, February 9-11, 2005 Women in Red' retreat to be held at Aquatic Center Honolulu. She reported that the waves were 20 feet taller than the ships deck, and even swept over the bridge. Most of the passengers feared for the worst. Hannah claimed that Wilson was so seasick that he wished the ship would sink. After safely arriving in Hawaii, Hannah said that she "would not have missed the thrilling experience for a million dollars and would not willingly go through it again for two million.1" After their time in Hawaii, the couple ventured on to Japan, and had an enjoyable honeymoon together. Wilson Snyder led an interesting life. He was a prominent attorney, an active community leader, and also experienced the thrill of marriage three times before he passed away in 1930. February is National Heart Month and the American Heart Association's "Women in Red" campaign seeks to raise awareness of heart disease, our nation's Mo. 1 killer. A winter retreat is planned at the Park City Aquatic Center (Bcker Hill Middle School) on Wednesday, Feb. 16, from 7 a.m. to* 3 p.m. The retreat will be hosteel by the Aquatic Center and My Time Fitness, and led by exercise physiologist Cheryl Simpkiss. M.S. The day will include a water workout, a discussion on "kYour heart and how it works and controlling cardiovascular risk factors," a snowshoe hike, a relaxation class and steam, sauna and hydro massage.
