Show Police Strike force r H spoil Sunset party By MARK EDDINGTON Staff Writer SUNSET Acting on information informa-tion provided by an informer, Davis Metro Narcotics Strike Force officers offi-cers broke up a drug deal, arresting four suspects and seizing five pounds of marijuana and $5,000 in cash. Strike Force Supervisor Dave Nance said officers received information infor-mation that a large drug transaction was going to take place. When the suspects met to conclude the deal, the police were ready and waiting. Craig Britton, 40, Sandy; David Allen, 34, Sandy; and Rita Walker, 28, of Sunset were booked into the Davis County Jail. A Bountiful man who allegedly tried to sell the marijuana mari-juana was booked into the Weber County Jail, after officers discovered several outstanding warrants war-rants issued there for his arrest. The name of the alleged seller was not available as of Friday afternoon. The incident took place at 1900 N. 250 West in Sunset, across the street from Sunset Elementary School in Rita Walker's home. Officials allege Britton and Allen attempted to purchase the marijuana from the Ogden man. Rita Walker, who knew both the buyer and sellers, was allegedly acting as a go-between. go-between. Police officials with the strike force, assisted by one uniformed Sunset Police officer, arrested the suspects while the deal was in progress. pro-gress. Nance said the police had been watching Walker for several weeks, ever since she and her husband hus-band were arrested for possession of a smaller amount of the drug. Officers place the street value of the confiscated marijuana in excess of $10,000. The Strike Force was formed in 1983 as a united effort by city and county police agencies to eliminate drug traffic in the county. It consists of five police officers donated by Bountiful, Layton, Clearfield, Kaysville and Davis County police forces. Other cities in the county make monetary contributions contribu-tions to help fund the force. |
