Show Reqional spelling bee finalists The South Davis Council PTA recently sponsored the South Davis Championship Spelling Bee at Bountiful Elementary. The winners were: first place, Jacob Figueira from Muir Elementary; second, Mike Grover, Millcreek Junior High; and third, Tyler Anderson, Mueller Park Junior High. The top two qualify for Region competition, which will include all of Davis County. Other finalists were: Matt W inward and Kevin Hales, Adelaide Elementary; Kami Schvaneveldt and Morgan Lyon, Boulton Elementary; Sarah Fedor, Christian Bahr and Kristin Alley, Bountiful Elementary; Jeff Eschler, Muir Elementary; Rusty Westergard and Jaclyn Markowski, Oakhills Elementary; Andrew Ferguson and Jillana Watson, Valley View Elementary; Jared Fields and Rob Dresner, Washing ton Elementary; Rorie Pyper and Sherry Palham, Woods Cross Elementary; Jenny Hunsaker, Millcreek Junior High; Will Sand-berg, Sand-berg, Mueller Park Junior High; Troy Davis and Carl Miller, South Davis Junior High. These finalists qualified for this competition by winning their school competitions. The spelling bee took almost two hours because of the many excellent spellers competing. |
