Show Double suicide attempt BRIGHAM CITY An 18-year-old man was killed and a 16-year-old friend suffered minor injuries in an apparent double suicide attempt, says Chief Charles Earl of the Brig ham City Police Department Depart-ment Michael Hobbs died of a self-inflicted gunshot to the head during the Dec. 29 incident in a field southwest of Brigham City, Earl said. His friend suffered scalp wounds on the left side of his head. The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. when the two young men lay with heads together on the ground, and Hobbs evidently placed the barrel of a .357 Magnum handgun against his temple and pulled the trigger. The bullet passed through Hobbs' head and but did not squarely hit the younger teen because he raised up to to look at the gun just before it went off, said Lynn Yeates, county medical examiner. ex-aminer. Earl declined to disclose why the double suicide was attempted. |
