Show Freed inducted into IAAPA Hall of Fame Bob Freed, former president and general manager of Lagoon, has been inducted posthumously into the International Inter-national Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Attrac-tions (IAAPA) Hall of Fame for his contributions to the growth and development of the amusement park industry. Freed's son, John, accepted the Hall of Fame award on X - " contribution to the development of the entire industry, their community and the nation. Freed began his professional career at Lagoon in 1946. At that time, Lagoon was a small family park with eight rides and limited attractions. As a result of Freed's direction, Lagoon today is a large, highly successful suc-cessful park which was visited by nearly one million people this year, according to Boyd Jensen, executive vice president of Lagoon. Clark Robinson, Freed's brother-in-law, is the current general manager. Bob Freed is also credited with contributing significantly to the IAAPA for 30 years, culminating in service as president in 1963. his father's behalf.
