Show Clinical drug trial slated Women suffering from urinary incontinence who are interested in participating in a clinical drug trial are being sought by investigators in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. The new six-week trial will be continuation of an ongoing study to evaluate a new drug for people suffering suf-fering from bladder control problems. prob-lems. Urinary incontinence, the involuntary in-voluntary loss of urine from the bladder, affects an estimated 10 million Americans, with prevalence rates twice as high in women as in 1 men. Incontinence often is the primary motivation for placing the aged in nursing homes. To be eligible for the U's study, women must be over 18 years of age, in general good health and experience ex-perience urinary incontinence more than four times a week. Women selected to participate will be required to make weekly visits to University Hospital. At the conclusion of the trial, the women will receive monetary compensation, compensa-tion, plus access to free medication until the trial drug is marketed.
