The Chevrolet Suburban was built with real people going real places in mind. The side doors are placed where doors are supposed to be placed. What a relief it is to open a door without fear of having an arm ripped out of its socket as other vans threaten. The Suburban door swings open, just like the doors the grownups get to use. Everyone in the Suburban is treated like an equal participant. Where other vans make passengers crawl over seats at an angle the human body was never meant to assume, the Suburban lets each person per-son exit with dignity. For some reason, vans of the past have created comfort thiough heat and air only for those lucky enough to nab the front seats. The Suburban, Subur-ban, definitely a vehicle of the future, actually gives the back seat passengers controls of their own to adjust the amount of heat and air conditioning they want and need. It is obvious that those who created this luxury wagon are people peo-ple who use vans. The Suburban becomes part of a vacation with its enjoyable ride. Drink trays are conveniently con-veniently located and make sense. They do not fold out of some deep dark recess and unwind like the claws of a foreign being. There is plenty of storage area for the odds and ends that accumulate during a trip. Such items as maps, cameras and candy bars can be easily eas-ily stored and reached without f The 1992 Blazer, Chevrolet's full-size sport-utility is the little brother to the 1992 Suburban. Both vehicles have gone through a metamorphosis which sets them apart from the competition. The four door Suburban will convert all van drivers to its new, easy to access, comfortable rear seats. having to sit in a heap of clutter throughout the drive. Vehicles like new Corvettes have always drawn small crowds wherever they parked. But the Suburban not only draws crowds, people want to be a part of the experience. expe-rience. Strangers become friendly and want for nothing more than a chance to sit in the latest creation only to gaze in awe at the instrument instru-ment cluster features, set conveniently conve-niently and reasonably on the dash. This is all just the beginning. Packed inside this streamlined comfort com-fort is an engine ready to take its passengers through Canyonlands, Zion and Castle Country. Horsepower and torque are rated at 230 at 3,600 rpm and 385 lb.-ft at 1600 rpm, respectively. This 1992 Suburban is prepared to take on over 8,500 lbs. as optional equipment. equip-ment. The big engine also features the computer-controlled High-Energy Ignition system for precise spark timing and breaker-free operation for extended spark life. Reliability and durability are built into this dream vehicle. The Suburban's car-like ride is a pleasure to manipulate through traffic. The driver does not end the day feeling like one wrestled a steering wheel and lost. One ends the vacation with a feeling of "Let's pack this baby up and get going again next weekend." |
