If you are interested, please contact con-tact the BountifuVDavis Art Center, 292-0367 or Janet Seamons, housing hous-ing chairman, 292-8706 as soon as possible. The BountifulDavis Art Center is looking for volunteers living in Bountiful, Centerville, North Salt Lake, West Bountiful and Woods Cross to house the international dancers and musicians that will be in Bountiful for Summerfest International Inter-national 1992. The performers wil arrive on Sunday or Monday, Aug 2 or 3 and will stay until Monday Aug. 10. There will be approximately 400-500 400-500 performers representing 13 different countries including: Austria, France (Basque), Indonesia, In-donesia, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia Mexico, Philippines, Poland, Rumania, Scotland and Taiwan. For those that did not have an opportunity to assist in hosting this cultural exchange last year, this is your chance! For those that did help out last year, your help is needed again. According to a spokesperson for the art center, "This is an incredible opportunity to personally welcome these artistic performers and become friends with those from other lands while encouraging cultural understanding and helping to promote world peace." Many of those involved last year have contacted organizers to say how much they enjoyed the experience. experi-ence. In spite of some language barriers, bar-riers, a way is found to communicate com-municate and form lasting friendships friend-ships with these international visitors. Because the performers do not get paid, it is a tradition at folk festivals, fes-tivals, worldwide, to provide housing hous-ing for them. Two performers stay in each home, unless there is room for more. They will need a place to sleep, transportation and most of theii meals that week (it is possible to share these duties with a neighbor). These Israeli dancers participated in last year's Summerfest International.
