Show Scholarship awarded f Emily S. Bessinger, a junior at Davis High School, won second place in the state Executive Women International Business scholarship competition on March 28 at the University Park Hotel. The scholarship includes $750 to the university of her choice. She also has the opportunity to participate par-ticipate in a summer internship with a major Salt Lake City company through EWI. Emily was selected through a school-wide search as the representative represen-tative from Davis High School. She was sponsored by Lduise P. Lochhead, business department chairperson. She submitted a large portfolio and was selected as one of the top six finalists in the state. She was then invited to be interviewed for the final competition. Second place in the state was awarded to her including the $750 scholarship. Emily is the daughter of Max and Mary Sue Bessinger of Kaysville. She plans to become a certified public pub-lic accountant. She has a 3.95 gpa including two AP classes and three honors classes. She is also involved in National Honor Society, Davis High jazz band, 1988-89 All-State jazz band, and as secretary of Future Business Leaders of America. |
